HUNTINGTON, W. Va. – Two of the nation’s highest-powered offense through the first two weeks of the season meet Saturday in the Battle for the Bell.

Marshall leads Conference USA in yards per game (580.0) and points per game (43.0), while Ohio is second in the Mid-American Conference in both categories at 37.5 points and 541.5 yards per contest.

Both offenses like to push the pace and regularly aim for 90 snaps per game on offense.

ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio scored 24 straight points in the third quarter to pull away with a convincing 51-24 home-opening win against New Mexico State in front of a record crowd of 25,983 at Peden Stadium on Saturday night.

Beau Blankenship rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns and Tyler Tettleton threw for 257 yards and two scores as the Bobcats amassed 584 yards of offense and turned a 21-17 lead early in the third quarter into a blowout before the end of the period.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Ohio dominated the second half with 21 unanswered points to rally past Penn State, 24-14, in the Nittany Lions' first game in the post-Joe Paterno era Saturday at Beaver Stadium.

ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio University announced Thursday a five-year contract extension for football coach Frank Solich, keeping him in Athens through the end of 2017.
