Ohio Football opens with 36-14 win over Gardner-Webb

Ohio ran for over 200 yards and blocked three punts in a 36-14 season-opening win vs. Gardner-Webb Saturday night in Athens. Kalvin McRae led the rushing attack with 142 yards and two scores. Back-up running back Josh Abrams had a great all-around night. He blocked three Bulldog punts and ran for a touchdown.
Brad Bower was steady as the Bobcats starting quarterback. He completed 15-of-25 passes for 180 yards and a TD. Michael Braunstein was perfect in his Bobcat debut connecting on fied goals of 21 and 43 yards and was good on all four extra point attempts. Ohio travels to Louisiana-Lafayette Saturday for a 7 PM contest. The Ragin' Cajuns dropped their opener 28-14 at South Carolina.
