The MAC News Media picked Ohio to win the MAC East at the MAC Media Day in Ford Field Wednesday. The Bobcats narrowly edged Kent St. for the top spot. Ohio received 15 of 36 first-place votes, Kent St. 13 and Akron 6. The Zips were picked third, followed by Miami, Bowling Green, Temple and Buffalo.

In the West, Western Michigan edged defending MAC Champ Central Michigan by two points in voting. They're followed by Toledo, Ball St., Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan. The Broncos are also the favorite to win the MAC Championship game finishing with 11 votes as compared to 10 for CMU and 6 for Ohio.

Last season, Ohio was picked to finish fourth in the East behind Akron, Miami and Bowling Green. The Bobcats would go on to win the East title with a 7-1 conference record.
