Perhaps the most important battle of the Spring for Ohio football is at the quarterback position. Senior Austen Everson is trying to hold on to his starting job while facing competition from junior transfer Brad Bower, sophomore Brandon Jones and redshirt freshman Josh Febus.
Bower, who sat out last season after transferring from Illinois, is an intriguing prospect. He started four games for the Illini as a redshirt freshman in 2004. Bower led the team to a 2-2 record in those games. For the season, he completed 57 of 100 passes for 658 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions. His 119.47 passer rating led the team. BobcatAttack.com's Rollie Merriman talked with Bower after a recent Spring practice.
