Turnovers and poor free throw shooting proved to be too much for Ohio to overcome in a 64-55 loss to American University Saturday afternoon in the nation's capitol. The Bobcats (3-2) committed 20 turnovers and hit just 4 of 12 free throw attempts in dropping their second straight road game.

The Ohio basketball team had a special visitor on Saturday. Assistant coach Kevin Kuwik, currently on active duty in the Army, was able to attend the Bobcats' win over Navy. BobcatAttack.com's Rollie Merriman spoke with the coach.

Ohio put the clamps on Butler shooters on the way to a 64-58 win Thursday night at the Convocation Center. The Bulldogs (3-1) shot just 35% for the game, including 28% in the second half, and hit just 7 of 29 3-point attempts. Freshman point guard Jeremy Fears led the Bobcats (2-0) with 16 points. Mychal Green added 13 and Terren Harbut chipped in with 10. The win avenged last year's one-point loss at Butler in the Bracket Buster.

Ohio opened the season on the right note in posting an 81-66 win over San Francisco Monday night at the Convocation Center. Sophomore Sonny Troutman led five Bobcats in double figures with 15 points. Newcomers Leon Williams and Mychal Green finished with 14 and 11 points respectively. John Cox led USF with 26 points but was just 8-for-23 shooting.
