Ohio opened its season with an 80-72 win over New Mexico St. Friday night at the Convocation Center. Jerome Tillman led the Bobcats with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Leon Williams was limited to just 17 minutes due to foul trouble but the rest of the Ohio starters finished in double figures. In their Bobcat debuts, Justin Orr and Bert Whittington IV scored 17 and 14 points respectively. Bubba Walther added 13.

The Aggies struggled from behind the 3-point line. They hit only 6 of 28 (21.4%) attempts from behind the arc including just 2 of 14 (14.3%) in the second half. Justin Hawkins led New Mexico St. with 19 points. Ohio is back in action on Saturday, November 17th when it hosts Cornell in a 7 PM game.
