Kent St.'s 82-65 win over Ohio Saturday at the M.A.C. Center kept the Bobcats from a MAC East Title and #1 seed in the conference tournament. Ohio (17-10, 11-7 MAC) instead becomes the 4-seed and will host 13-seed Marshall Monday night. The Flashes (19-11, 11-7) finish as a 5-seed and will host 12-seed Central Michigan.

Ohio, aware that earlier losses by Miami and Akron meant a chance for a MAC Title, started strong against the Flashes. Sonny Troutman scored 13 of the 'Cats first 15 points. His two free throws gave OU its largest lead at 32-35 with 3:05 left in the first half. DeAndre Haynes' 3-pointer would cut the Ohio halftime lead to 35-33.

In the second half, the two teams traded leads and were tied at 49 at the 10:52 mark. But Haynes scored 10 points over the next seven minutes to spark a 22-10 Kent St. run and seal the win. The Flashes shot 61.5% in the second half and limited the Bobcats to 38.5% shooting.

Troutman and Mychal Green led Ohio with 19 points each. A game after combining for 55 points, freshmen Jeremy Fears and Leon Williams scored just nine. Jason Edwin had 17 for the winning Flashes.

Ohio's game against Marshall is scheduled for 9 PM at the Convocation Center and will be televised by ESPNU. The 'Cats swept the two regular season meetings but the Thundering Herd comes in off a 54-47 win over Miami.
