Ohio starts MAC with 71-59 loss to Akron

Ohio's road woes continued into MAC play as the Bobcats lost their conference opener 71-59 at Akron Sunday night. After entering halftime tied at 30, Ohio (5-4 Overall, 0-1 MAC) wouldn't score its first field goal until 10:08 remained in the game. Meanwhile, Akron (7-3, 1-1) was going on a 19-4 run and would allow the Cats no closer than eight points the rest of the way.
Sonny Troutman had 12 points and Leon Williams 11 to lead the Bobcats. Ohio was outrebounded in the game 41-27 and committed 15 turnovers. Darryl Peterson and Rick McFadden led the Zips with 15 points each.
