Bobcats Work 2 OT's, Beat Herd 87-85

For the second straight game, Ohio went to overtime but this time was victorious as it downed Marshall 87-85 in two OT's Saturday night in Huntington. The Bobcats (6-10 Overall, 3-5 MAC) were led by Brandon Hunter's 35 points. Also in double figures were Steve Esterkamp with 22 and Jaivon Harris with 11. Ronald Blackshear had 30 points for the Thundering Herd (9-8, 5-4), 27 after halftime. Marvin Black added 21 and Monty Wright chipped in 11.

It was Ohio's third straight win over Marshall and came with the Bobcats playing short-handed. Starting center Delvar Barrett is out with an ankle injury, Sonny Johnson missed his second game with a back injury suffered in a car accident and reserve point guard Zach Kiekow is on leave from the team. After Jeff Halbert fouled out at the end of regulation, Tim O'Shea was left with seven scholarship basketball players. Footballers Hugh Grant and Brian Ingram are dressing with the team and Grant saw brief action in the first half.
