Ohio blew a 16-point second half lead before bowing to Bowling Green 66-60 in overtime Tuesday night at the Convocation Center. The Bobcats (5-10 Overall, 2-5 MAC) built a 36-22 halftime lead with the help of eight 3-pointers in the first half. But Bowling Green (10-7, 6-3) picked up the defense in the second half to get back in it. The Falcons allowed Ohio just 5 points in the last 8 minutes of regulation and 5 minutes of overtime.
The 'Cats, missing Sonny Johnson due to a strained back suffered in a car accident Sunday, could not provide a supporting cast for Brandon Hunter who finished with 26 points. He scored the team's first 17 points of the half and 19 of the 24 points scored after halftime. Hunter carded another double-double with 15 rebounds. Steve Esterkamp was the only other Bobcat in double figures with 14 but just 2 of those came after intermission.
