Central Michigan's J.R. Wallace hit a halfcourt shot as time expired to give his team an 87-84 victory over Ohio at Rose Arena Saturday. The Bobcats (4-7 Overall, 1-2 MAC) rallied from a 5-point deficit with 33 seconds to play. Steve Esterkamp's jumper with 2 seconds left tied the game at 84 and set up Wallace's heroics. Chris Kaman led CMU (9-3, 2-1) with 22 points. Wallace and Mike Manciel each had 19 and Whitney Robinson added 16.
The game marked the fourth straight Bobcats' contest that was decided in the game's final minute. Brandon Hunter and Jaivon Harris had 20 points apiece for an Ohio team that shot 61.5% from the floor and converted on 16 of 17 free throws. Esterkamp and Sonny Johnson were also in double figures with 16 and 12 points respectively. Starting center Delvar Barrett missed the game due to an ankle injury suffered in the Akron game and his absence made it difficult for OU to defend the Chippewas' 7-foot Kaman.
