Thought this game had the makings of a tough match with Miami on a 10 game streak. So wrong.

OHIO blows out Miami in straight sets. It was finesse, raw power and accuracy on offense, plus a strong D. Everyone was on. Amazed at how easy it looked.

CONGRATULATIONS ON RUNNING THE TABLE!

I was doing important stuff so missed the live action...for which I apologize greatly to the ladies and coach.

By the scores, though, my gawd, we absolutely destroyed redhawk. WOW.

Commments, thoughts please from those of you who were there live...Size of crowd? Atmosphere?

Good crowd; I'd guess somewhere between 1500 and 2000. Decent O-zone showing, probably between 50 and 100. They were very vocal, calling the Miami players by name (nothing obnoxious, but I do think they got under the skin of several Miami players.). Good job, O-Zone!

Miami really looked flat to me. I really didn't see any fire in them at all; once we were up by four or five, it just snowballed on them.

I think our ladies were pumped, and focused on tonight's match. I honestly don't think anybody in the MAC could have beaten us tonight under the circumstances.

Looking forward to the MAC Tournament in the Convo..

Swank was there -- your take Alan?

IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT TO BE A BOBCAT! As others have said, it looked pretty easy. We were for the most part a step quicker and a bit stronger. I'm never one to make excuses for our opponents, particularly the M word. However, the birdies played a 5 set roadie last nite, then had to turn around and play the MAC's best team on the road on senior night. The deck was definitely stacked in our favor.

During the first two sets in particular, I thought Deane and staff showed their stuff. They had scouted the birds well, and their girls were consistently driving the ball right into our strength. First set went to 8-8, then we just jumped 'em, put the foot to their throat and never let them establish any type of run. In the first two sets Karin Bull was an absolute beast. Kelly was a sledge hammer throughout.

From where I sat, it appeared all 3 of our seniors became emotional during their introductions, very much so in Chelsea's case. She's given so much to the program and worked so hard to come back from a tough injury.

Good to see the basketball guys show up. Stevie Taylor won a tee shirt in the halftime service contest (don't tell the NCAA tho!)

I'm a volleyball DAD, but you and I and the world knows "It's all about the bucks." Sorry to say, v-ball will always be a step child to b-ball and f-ball. It still is a helluva lot of fun to watch when the product on the court is as good as Ohio's. Good luck to #1 daughter and the rest of the Lady Bobcats this weekend.

Thats pretty realistic. Love it when other parents come on and wholly welcome them.....especially when they are about the program and not their own kid so....WELCOME.

Even here in Muncie Vball occupies large segments of our paper that has been hard won over time. Wresting Friday night tourneys vs Assumption and Burris away from Friday Night Lights has been a journey and I expect over the years we will see vball and sportsinfo developing a relationship in Athens.

Official box score lists the attendance as 2,512. I didn't think it was over 2,000, but okay.

I'd say maybe 25-30% were on the student side. Not as rowdy of a crowd (overall) as you might expect, but as I said in an earlier post there was a decent turnout of O-Zoners who were very vocal (and fun to watch and listen to). I'm still not a fan of any cheer/chant that includes the word "suck," (showing my age, obviously) but overall I felt the O-Zoners did their part.

It was a fun night.

A friend and I bet on attendance figures. I said 2800 and he won with 2600.

Have to agree Radar. Pretty tough to count attendance when no one was taking tickets when we came in. Oh well, time to move past that and enjoy and celebrate the great team play on the court. Watched the last half of the third set sitting on the floor inside the Cats mouth. Great place to see the blocking/hitting angles. I'd post a photo if someone can tell me how in a few simple steps.

A couple of attendance notes. I visit Las Vegas 3-4 times a year, including earlier this month, and enjoy reading the local paper. Just before I got out there, the Rebs had scored a major upset at home, defeating nationally ranked Colorado St. This led to a lengthy, front-of-the-sports-section column, which included the fact that the team was thrilled that about 700 fans where in attendance, double what UNLV usually gets...

I also checked the figures for OSU's home matchup with Penn St., which I like to equate with the New York Yankees. Both teams were nationally ranked, and of course it was OSU, the big dog in the state. Attendance was 2900, not much more than we had for Miami.

I thought 2500 hundred was about right last nite...
