There was only 1 bar that I considered "THE BAR" "THE LANTERN". Period.

Nickelodeon, The Junction, Mug & Margarita, the CI, the Union, and someone help me here with the name-the old bar in the old Baker Center. On a beautiful May afternoon, nothing was better than hanging out on the outdoor porch and sitting on wall at the corner of S. College St. and East Union drinking beers and talking to coeds.

Love the topic!

Probably the CI, but not under my own volition. It was usually only because my group wanted to go there. Otherwise the bar I went to a lot and actually enjoyed myself would probably be the Blue Gator.

I probably hit them all. But every night wrapped up at the CI. Late night Happy Hour. Two for one beers. You could get 4 beers for a buck just before last call.

Not a bad deal - 4 beers for a buck.

Almost as good as what a couple of BA regulars and I used to get at Mug-n-Margirita - a bucket of beer for a dollar. It helped to know the bartender.

CI. Junction.

Anyone else miss going to The Dugout to see The Crunch play?

Ah. Good times.

Not very often do I feel young but I've never even heard of 80% of these bars lol.

For me, a typical night was spent at either Pawpurrs, Pigskin, or J-Bar (formerly The Junction). My underage nights were definitely spent at The Crystal.

The Crystal, which may or may not have had a liquor license at the time.

Freshman year: The Junction (Thursdays) and Nickelodeon (Fri-Sat.)

I was a Cat's Eye regular, particularly on Friday nights for Progressives. Also did Thursdays at the Junction often, and hung at The C.I. and Tony's a little bit. I did The Pub to eat, but that's about it.

"Nowaday's", when I'm in Athens, I spend most of my time at Jackie O's before games, while getting the occasional pre-hoops lunch at The Pub. Still do Cat's Eye or West End Cider House afterward if there is an afterward. Because they open at 10am, we're also prone to stopping into The Skull if we're interested in a really early start. ;-)

Does this still occur? I need to see/hear that at least once.
