Years? Maybe a year, IMO.
Again I hope you're right but we're basically a year into this already. There is a vaccine and huge numbers of healthcare workers are refusing it. I can't imagine the general public lining up in droves if those dealing with Covid patients daily are saying no thanks.

It's a "Limited Edition." Appropriate.

And there's not even a mock-up photo.

Within a couple of hours of the first shot, he had vertigo.
It go sot bad he couldn't get off the bathroom floor for several hours.

He stayed in the bathroom, because then came nausea, followed by vomiting and headache.

He said it took a couple of days to back to normal.
Reminds me of Quad Night at the Junction...back in the day.

Add temporary blindness to the list of symptoms and it would perfectly describe SBH the day after his 21st birthday, which involved 21 shots.

(I wonder how his 60th birthday went)

Such good friends looking out for me, I might add. Or rather, egging me on.

On another note, has anyone gotten the shingles vaccine (calling OCF)? I hear it can have nasty side effects, yet is much better than getting shingles at an "elevated age."

I’ve had the original one, but not the new enhanced and improved one. My family doc says I should get it. Probably will later this year. BTW: It’s now day two post COVID-19 vaccine shot one and still no noticeable side effects.

I got the shingles vaccine about 3 summers ago and was told to come back in about 4 months for the second dose. I had no side effects.

About 4 months later I called my physician to set up my 2nd dose and was told the entire country was low on the vaccine and that they had no more doses. They advised me to try and locate a 2nd dose on my own. I called local CVS stores, Walgreens, urgent cares, etc. . . with no luck. Finally got a call back from the Kroger pharmacy for my 2nd dose.

I should be getting the COVID vaccine in a couple of weeks. I'm a bit concerned about the availability of the 2nd dose weeks later based on my experience with the shingles vaccine.

My wife had the shingles vaccine last year.
The hospital where she works treated the shingle vaccine, the same way the are doing covid.
They make sure they have the second dose "in house" for everyone they vaccinate.

In fact, with both shingles and covid, they scheduled the second dose when
you get the first.

In her case, her reaction to both shingle doses was much worse then covid.

I had no reaction whatsoever to the earlier shingles vaccine. Does this new one have a much worse side effect profile? If so, I hadn't heard about that.

She had pain at the injection site.
Worse after the second shot.

She had redness on her upper arm that lasted quite a while.

Those 25.3 million "cases" are dubious at best and include false positives. As for 421,000 deaths how many of those had severe underlying conditions that would have succumbed to even a mild case of the flu? Bottom line is if a person is in a high-risk category or simply does not feel safe they have every right to stay inside their own home. Nobody is being forced to go anywhere.
Good to see we still have our fair share of brain dead morons on this board.

Maybe we should do the following:

1.) Close every business in United States.
2.) Close schools from preschool to Universities.
3.) Put the entire US population on public assistance i.e. foodstamps, etc.
4.) Order every man, woman and child to stay confined in their own homes with the threat of execution.

.....if it saves just one life.

Half of it.

You were called a moron.

But the notion that any of this:

1.) Close every business in United States.
2.) Close schools from preschool to Universities.
3.) Put the entire US population on public assistance i.e. foodstamps, etc.
4.) Order every man, woman and child to stay confined in their own homes with the threat of execution.

is a desired policy outcome here, or has come even remotely close to happening is representative of the sort of lazy, conspiratorial thinking that's poisoning American discourse.

There are reasonable conversations to be had about the policy response to Covid and what could have been handled better. None of those reasonable conversations will start with the conspiratorial gibberish you listed above.

Conspiratorial gibberish? I was simply stating my opinion of what needs to be done. Furthermore there there should be no sports at any level, no restaurants open, no nothing. We're all in this together......if it saves just one life.

Cool, man. But from my vantage point, here's what seems to be happening here: You're only actually capable of successfully debating with viewpoints nobody holds, so you're creating a strawman to attack. So congrats. You're winning your debate against. . .nobody. You should be proud.

There's an actual conversation worth having here. Anytime you want to have it, feel free.

Do you disagree with my suggestions of what needs to be done? This is a once in 100 year pandemic. I don't understand why there is a single person out in public.

More than willing to have the debate. I'm open to any reasoning as to why this entire Country is not shutdown. No sports, no nothing. It's simply too dangerous. Does everyone in the United States want their Grandmothers to die? We are all in this together.

To me, the main reason the country should remain open is because in the very early days of the pandemic, me and the politicians I support insisted loudly that this wasn't a real threat. We decided it was just politics, and just the flu, and turned this -- like literally everything else -- into a culture issue. And so, since that was my opinion in the early days, and I'm very smart and a very rational, "common sense" sorta guy, I've decided that the best way to feel smart is to position the only possible alternative as one where Americans are shot for leaving the house. That way, I'm right. And that's what's most important here.
