I think Jones is a junior.

Ngoumo didn't play at Iowa last year......if his prep school gpa was OK could he play this year for the Cats?

He reports that Iowa didn't follow up with him after they sent him to prep school so he sought another school! Looking at the film he looks to be one of the best wr prospects in the MAC defiently..the guy is huge and looks jacked! A legit six four 215..hope he enjoys his stay in athens maybe coaches will pull the trigger on this guy he looks and seems like a great young man..he would have his full eligibilty btw.

The ink is drying! Ohio picked up a major sleeper days before camp opens!! Rutgers and UVA where in the running for this guy and OHIO pulled it off!!

Stephan Ngoumou 6'4 210

HighLight http://www.reelathletics.net/recruits/men-recruits/football/past-football-recruits/150-stephane-ngoumou

12/14/2009 HawkeyeReport.com

Stephane Ngoumou was with the Hawkeye Football program this fall until the start of practice when he failed to fully qualify academically. That led him to Milford Academy in New York to take care of his academics and play football waiting to return to Iowa City. Are those plans still on? We caught up with the wide receiver to get the very latest and find out if Iowa is still in the picture.

Wideout Stephane Ngoumou of Wootton (Rockville, Md.)/Milford Academy (New Berlin, NY) has parted ways with the Hawkeyes.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound prospect, who originally signed with Iowa in the Class of 2009, had 71 receptions for over 1200 yards as a senior for Wootton.
He was with the Hawkeyes last summer until the start of Fall practice, but failed to qualify academically. That led him to attend Milford Academy and recommit to Iowa for the Class of 2010.

With McCRae, Brazill, and Goulet all in their final season getting a a player of this caliber is huge. If this holds up to be true would their be a release of some sort before camp opens?

Not that this doesn't look like a good signing, but from what I can find he was a 2 star recruit from both Scout and Rivals and a 40 from ESPN.  That all boils down to him probably being an unknown.  Certainly has all the measurables.    Iowa must have liked what they saw, his only other offer out of high school was from Eastern Michigan.

The staff must think he'll be an impact player and I certainly trust them, so welcome Stephane!

I know the tape is from HS, but I like the athletic catches, vision of running lanes and blockers, and yards after contact.  Here's to hoping he can learn from Terrence, Riley, LaVon, Steven, Gary and the rest of the crew and contribute big to the team.

Empty backfield.....4 WR set this year will be awesome with Brazill-McCrae-Goulet-Dunlop.....and think about next year with Dunlop-Bussey-Ngoumou-Foster......and that's not including 2010 Fr. like Chase Cochran and maybe a 2011 gem....if we need one.

Makes me Pavlovian.

Anytime I post something like this it will be from the horses mouth..not sure about any huge annoucement but the kid is legit..he has macraes body already so the sky is the limit..everyone that has seen this film is shocked that he was rated 2 stars...a few days ago iowa head coach says this guy is a stud recruit..everyone else sees the film and sees 5 star ala shades of randy moss..no one knows what he will do coming into camp..not much time for serious training but in a year he has more upside than any wr..I look for him to make a nice handful of plays this year just off of his size alone

We are so primed for a running back to assert.

No way OUr O can be slowed if we get legit play from the rb position.

First of all, I have confidence that the staff knows what they are doing, but anyway, last year he was rated 2 stars by Scout, but 3 stars/5.5 by Rivals:

IF....and that's a big IF ( Not discounting you BobcatBlitz, but if everything said on the board was factual, Marin Bota would be enjoying time off after his 3rd NBA championship and coming back to Athens to have a street named after him) this is legit, and he's legit... and he's able to play well this year.....  Can you imagine....

1st and goal at the 10... Jackson drops back to pass... LaVon is crossing over the middle, Dunlop is crossing over the other way, McRae is on his way to the corner of the endzone waiting for a jump ball and Stephane is sitting in the other corner waiting for the jump ball... that almost makes my head explode with the amount of awesomeness in there....

...and Bates is running an end around with Boo dropping back to decide which of his 5 options are going to get the ball.

The O line not only gives Boo time for all those reads, they actually open up a hole and Boo just runs it in himself!

This is an exciting time to be a Bobcat! I wonder if Cardale can't see himself in the Green and White throwing to Foster, Ngoumou, Chochran, and his boy Shane Wynn over the next 3-4 years?
