5 players from the midwest (IN, IL, MI, MO) not from Ohio which is a sign our brand is penetrating more generally throughout MAC country.
Problem is, MAC schools that win usually recruit Ohio.
The numbers seem to go up and down from year to year. Some years Ohio gets a lot from in state, and in other years they seem to mainly recruit out of state players. Out of curiosity, I looked up how many Ohio players each MAC school has recruited the last few years. Here is data from 2021-23 in the form "Total=2023+2022+2021"
BGSU 16=5+3+8 and 6 for 2024 =>22 (11 last two years)
Toledo 17=6+3+8 and 4 for 2024 =>21 (10 last two years)
Akron 13=5+3+5 and 5 for 2024 =>20 (10 last two years)
Miami 14=1+7+6 and 4 for 2024 =>18 (5 last two years)
Ohio 16=7+3+6 and 1 for 2024 =>17 (8 last two years)
Kent 11=4+2+5 and 6 for 2024 =>17 (10 last two years)
Ball St 10=5+3+2 and 1 for 2024 =>11 (6 last two years)
EMU 5=1+0+4 and 2 for 2024 => 7 (3 last two years)
WMU 4=3+0+1 and 1 for 2024 =>5 (4 last two years)
CMU 3=1+0+2 and 2 for 2024 =>5 (4 last two years)
Buffalo 1=1+0+0 and 0 for 2024 (1 last two years)
NIU 0=0+0+0 and 0 for 2024 (none last two years)
