Hey Doc...Do we have an offer out to James Andersen or was he just a wish list?  He looks great in this footage...

He's just someone I thought was D1 material and we had contact with.....not sure if we've offered him or not....kinda like QB Cole French....I know we've talked to him....not sure if we've offered.

With 4 WR's committed and guys like Roberts, Barksdale and Grigsby seeming leaning towards Ohio, makes you wonder how many WRs they will take in this class. Or, if a couple of these guys will be moved to another position.

Isn't Roberts a TE?

I think that's where he'll end up......he or Tanner could be used as a DE.....but we have a ton of those and we seem to be using the TE more in our offense.

All of the recruiting services list him as a WR but he would seem to have the size to play TE.

Wow.  I want to see L.C.'s review of our prospects updated for the last couple of days.

Recruting ultimately is about what results on the field. (duh)  But even at this stage I'll take the results our staff is producing:  better student athletes year after year coming on.  Guys who, for the most part, actually stick and show on the field.

The future is bright.  Even the activity on the football threads ever since the off season began has been pretty hefty.  Good times.

Or you could be like that boa at temples and have lots of preliminary hype that doesn't amount to much.

I added Roger Lewis....4 star WR recruit who seems to have decommitted from OSU.  Insiders first said Fork Union prep school but now they're saying Ohio.

The question is will he be eligible next year?

Also moved Malik Rodriquez to safety.....will be a great cover guy with his size and 4.5 speed....Jordan Reid may also be moved.....especially if we sign no more DB's and WR/TE Mike Roberts.

If we get him, we will be using the TE A LOT MORE in our offense.  We get a TE with the receivers we consistently produce and our offense will go to another level!  I am so jacked about the way this recruiting class is shaping up and the guys we have the potential of landing.  I will be glued to this board this weekend.

Hope our QB's get a lot of practice throwing the deep ball because a lot of big time receivers getting on board.  If these late recruits are legit then the WR/TE position appears to be the strength of the class and some of these guys could get on the field pretty quickly especially with Brazill and Dunlop gone.

The more the merrier though the returning group has been working with coach for a while now and are not chopped liver.

Yeah I was very interested to see the possibility of Lewis, mentioned in a cleveland.com article about tOSU being maxed out on scholarships.  Would be nice to steal an tOSU recruit even it is mainly due to academics.

Doc, below you have Dallas Brown being redshirted.  I do not see him on the official roster.  Is he still someone you expect back?

Doc Bobcat wrote:expand_more
It's Monroe's fault....he said it's never too early for a wish list....probably have a few changes since it is early but what the heck...this class at least misses the Mayan 2012 extinction prediction.

To match our offense you'll see one RB....plus we lose a few WR's so the need is there.

(Edit...more than one RB would be nice....but we added  David Fulcher Jr. and Dallas Brown is being redshirted)

Defense forthcoming.

QB-Greg Winham-6'1"-215-Tampa, FL-had offers from UC and Troy and VERBAL TO OHIO.

RB-Dazmond Patterson-5'8"-170-Plant City, FL-DAZzles as a RB and receiver and VERBAL TO OHIO.

WR-Chris Murray-5'11"-185-Tampa, FL-had official visit during Marshall game and VERBAL TO OHIO.

WR-Matt Waters-6'1"-200-Iowa JUCO-great hands possesion type receiver and VERBAL TO OHIO.

WR-Jordan Reid-6'3"-190-Lilburn, GA-also plays DB and VERBAL TO OHIO.

WR-Roger Lewis-6'2"-190-Pickerington-4 star recruit could be coming.

TE-John Tanner-6'4"-245-Cincy Moeller-had a great visit from a decent program and VERBAL TO OHIO.

OL-Troy Watson-6'6"-285-Aurora-great size/speed ratio and VERBAL TO OHIO.

OL-James Anderson-6'3"-305-Omaha, NE-keep that Nebraska OL pipeline goin.

OL-Nick Gibbons-6'4"-300-Stone, GA-multiple BCS offers and VERBAL TO OHIO.

I think Brown is returning for his senior year......to this list I added Mike Roberts and left Roger Lewis on as he could be coming with S Sebastian Smith from Pickerington Central.
