So if Ohio wants to still have a QB in the class, who might it be? The only one offered a scholarship by Ohio and undecided accoroding to the recruiting chart is Juwan Brown, who also has offers from Florida A&M, Florida Atlantic and Florida International.

I gave three possibilities in Doc's Wish list thread, Timothy Brady, Keenen Wise, and Najee Jackson. It's probably more likely that it would be someone under the radar, perhaps someone that was hurt their Junior year, and thus not rated, and who had a great Senior year.

A QB recruit (from my high school) just decommited from BC and signed with Uconn.  So, Walsh's chances of PT are improving.

I have bitched on this site about the word "commitment" because most of these kid, if they knew what the word actually meant, would agree that they really aren't "committed."  That said, the Dispatch has info that makes the Walsh situation somewhat understandable.  Turns out the kid's dad has been working in Boston the last year, and the only reason the family stayed in Dublin was to allow him to play football at Coffman.  He really liked the new BC coach, who had recruited him at Temple, so when BC recruited him, it set up very nicely for the family.  Walsh repeated in the paper that he felt bad about his mind change, and it apparently was made only after great deliberation.

Based on this info, I wish the kid nothing but the best...

Personally, I'm not going to begrudge a 17/18 year old kid a change of mind. If he wants to live in Boston, he probably would have been as unhappy in Athens as I would have been if someone had made me spend my college days in a major city.

I have to wonder why the staff didn't see this coming if they knew the dad was in Boston.

66, BC was not offering early.  BC hires new coach from Temple who tried to get him to Temple and lost out to Ohio.  Coach moves to BC and then tries again with a different, better offer.  This time Ohio loses.  Hard to beat the late offer from BC.

understand the reasoning. Just wonder why they didn't anticipate and have backups before it happened so late.

Next year's backups will be a RS So, and two RS Fr.  Guess they are happy with them and are OK letting a year pass.  Again, eligibility wise Windham will still be a freshman.  Might be hard to get a top QB to come behind Vick/Windham.

at the signing press conference, I thought they were really quick to avoid much discussion about this except to say they didn't have enough time to find a replacement that they knew much about. And they did the obligatory info about those already here.

Knowing this staff, they will be turning rocks and networking til they have what they need.  Walsh would have been great, but, he was not a great need this year.

I am locking this thread.  No more conversation about this alleged Walsh.

He is dead to me.

How is Doug Flutie still on roster at BC? He HAS to have used up his eligibility by now!
