Anyone else watch that scouting video? Is Mike Leach coaching Dublin Coffman or something?

They obviously have a control passing attack, and rarely take the ball deep.

Southpaw. There was a time QBs waited for offers from practically anyplace else.  My how times have changed.  If anyone has details on James, ACT etc., please share.

Looks good...great arm strength. Its very nice to beat out Toledo, et. al. for a QB. Things continue to look up.

Likely, just the tip of a rising iceberg.

Big pick up...Reading a little more about him it sounds as if he can move.

How would he compare to Miami's Zac Dysert at the same stage?

Does a lefty passer put any unusual stress on the defensive prep for the game?

Impressive video.  Maybe the best I've seen on this board for QBs.  Good choice young man!

Yeah I know it's crazy to think that way....but I'll have to admit......Boise State success and their lefty QB Moore went thru my mind after Walsh committed.

OK Doc.  Given he and Ohio will have two/three/four years of further growth before he need worry about looking like TT let alone KM.  Hopefully he will have some playmakers to help him look equally good at the next level.

I will not breathe another breath until James Walsh's "john doe" is on a LOI! In that brief video I saw a lefty roll right and square on a dime to fling one down field, drop back and bomb away, roll left and without squaring get one to a receiver downfield on the sideline, and show hints of quickness afoot! Wow! Get me a respirator!

This appears to be the third year in a row we've gotten a commitment from a QB with a heck of a lot of potential (Vick '10, Windham '11). The future just keeps getting brighter here. I really hope this guy sticks with his commitment come signing day. What a great get for OHIO.

Sorry, I can't let that slide. The QB recruit from 2009 had some potential, too. I'd call that 4 years in a row.

I'm not 100% certain, but wasn't Snyder the buffer between Tettleton and Vick (restarting the streak)?

Yep, you're right - it was TT in 2009, and Snyder is 2010. To be honest, I think Snyder was a pretty good recruit, too. He just couldn't take the top spot from TT, but then, I don't think Vick, Murry, or Walsh will, either.

From the other thread...

This is a very nice start to a class. He has offers from BG, Akron, Toledo, and CMU

5.6 from Rivals, and their #23 QB, fourth highest in state of Ohio
2 stars from Scout, and their #73 QB
ESPN doesn't know he exists yet
247 Sports hasn't rated him yet

247 Sports has now rated him as 3 stars, 82. That would make him 50ish in their national rankings for QBs.

ESPN now has a page for Walsh, but no rating yet (4.5 means unrated).

What business does that have on a public forum? Why do you want to know that?

That's a totally legit question.  We've (all of college football) have had several kids who have signed but weren't able to make it into school.  Wondering whether or not the kid will actually make it here due to grades is completely relevant.

Is Kenny Ashley's ACT also irrelevant?
