Since he's going to Northwestern rather than Ohio, 247Sports bumps his rating from 81 to 84. Considering that this follows dropping Maxwell Howell from 88 to 72 when he chose Ohio, it's going to be very hard for me to take 247Sports seriously in the future.
247Sports also increased Burrow's rating after he picked Ohio State.
FWIW, in about 8 years of following it, the only other time I've seen a rating changed when someone picked Ohio, or left Ohio, was when a guy that was listed by the services as a QB was committed to Ohio as a Safety, then was recruited by Nebraska and Ohio State, and ended up at Ohio State (where he seldom played). The services all re-evaluated him as a Saftey, and moved him from a 2-star QB to a 3-star Safety, which I understood.
247Sports started out well, and seemed to be trying hard, but since their ratings depend on what school a kid picks, they obviously have no value.
