The article on Jordon Thomson linked to on the main pages hits the topic of coaching continuity directly. Thompson credited as the main reason he chose Ohio that Solich "....also told me that Ohio was going to be his last job and I believed him." By contrast, another school that was recruiting him had a coach "on the hot seat" at the time, and has changed coaching staffs a couple times since then.
I have had several parents tell me that coaching continuity was a big consideration in their decision to support Ohio for their sons. On the other hand I have had at least one parent tell me that was a change in their son's position coach here and the kid didn' t know where they stood with the new coach.Coaching changes can hurt for sure( unless it was a lousy coach to start with).

All right, I will ask, what are the odds he ends up in Athens now?

It is a shame he didn't qualify initially, as he might be a starter already. Once they go to Juco, you may or may not get them back. The fact that Alabama wants him now just shows that Ohio does identify and recruit some good players, and the fact that they aren't widely recruited doesn't mean they are bad players.

50/50, betweem Ohio and Texas Tech.

Although Alabama has offered, Leavitt sees Tech as a better opportunity for playing time. However, Ohio is still a possibility as he appreciates them sticking with him and guiding him to his junior college.
