I know he has been mentioned as a TE...but if you watch his 4 stars high school vids he tossed people around like rag dolls..,if he is as big as Blitz says he should start at DT from day 1...he and Sayles would knock some people out.

I hear ya Blitz...rotating Strobel and Sayles on the DL would be explosive...we have a few NT types so these 2 as huge DEs playing inside might dominate.

I don't know about him starting, he barely played at Michigan and never travelled. He might not travel here, I hope for the best though.

I am from Cleveland, I love to see Northeast Ohio guys succeed. I am just being realistic, I hope that you are right, because I love my bobcats. I want them to succeed more than anything, so if Stroebel starts and is all MAC, I am much happier than him not doing anything. I am just trying to be honest, because some of us don't live in the real world.

I am not a darksider, I just want to see us win and am not happy with the middle of the pack. I believe where we need to improve is recruiting, offensive and defensive schemes and accountability, so I voice my disagreement there. Don't think for a moment, I want to see us fail, I love the cats. I want the coaches to make the changes necessary to get us over the hump, no more moral victories. Let's go Cats.

Allen what you’ve just typed is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this message board is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Strobel played in 11 games last year for Michigan. He is already bigger than any guy we have coaches are ecstatic. Not to mention he was All Big Ten Academic. Some people are never happy.

(Harbaugh says that Tom Strobel has value to the team as a two-way player. )
Tom Strobel is playing nose tackle.
Tom Strobel out there getting some run on the defensive line.
Tom Strobel, Michigan's backup right guard last week, now playing DT.
Tom Strobel, playing at defense today, already has two tackles.
Harbaugh says Tom Strobel and Henry Poggi will help out on defense line this week.

I will not get negative with you, but believe me, I have more responsibility than you will ever have. Bobcatblitz, you probably should not bring God into your spiteful rant, but God bless you as well and may He have mercy on all of us and not just me. I hope Strobel pays dividends as I stated before. I am just saying let's not go overboard, the kid had 6 tackles in three years, two tackles per year. Btw, 6'6"270 is not nearly the biggest kid that we have or have ever coached, so if we are talking about idiotic, maybe you need to do a self examination.

Before we disrespect each other's opinions, let's examine our own thought processes. Six tackles in three years is no reason to call someone stupid for thinking that someone may or may not be worth a scholly, its rational. You probably should not be spiking the football at this moment. You should not be inboxing one another saying you got Allen, lol. Think about it.

I am, I am, I am! But like I said, I can't believe Bcat2 is excited about actually getting a 4-star guy. I thought those stars meant nothing:) (sarcasm:))

I do agree with those that say he better be a contributor or else we'll never even look at another 4-star guy ever.

Haha, Casper. Seriously at this point those stars were from 4 years ago. What matters is that he can help, and help immediately. Heitzman was a great addition, and I hope Strobel does as well or better.

Ohio has lost a lot of DTs in the last 2 years, including Tautuaiki and Purdum from the 2015 team, so this will be a huge help in more ways than one. I project his as the starter alongside Sayles, with Aloese and Porter as the backups, with depth provided by Arp, McKnight, Chuckwu, and Kuhar.

Not sure what this means, nor what it has to do with this board but...

Welcome aboard Mr. Strobel. While you are only one player, YOU DO have a potential impact and have more responsibility with respect to the program than all of us thread chasers combined. A number on this board were skeptical of your old teammate at Michigan (Mr. Heitzman) - lacked experience, speed, etc. but he proved invaluable last year (possibly an indication of the general level of football acumen on this board). Hope you can contribute the same success for us next season. I'm sure you will love your time in Athens and hope your contribution to the school extends well beyond the football field.

Casper71. My expectations for Mr. Strobel are that he might be like Mr. Purdum, a swing player, depending. I do not expect Mr. Aloese, Mr. Porter, Mr. Basham, Mr. Laseak, Mr. Smart, Mr. Robbins, Mr. Berger, Mr. Kuhar, Mr. Sayles, Mr. Arp, Mr. McKnight, Mr. Davis or Mr. Payne to step aside for him. What I hope he will contribute is another leader in the locker room. I still expect Basham, Aloese, Sayles and Laseak to be the starting front next fall. Again, I am excited about the leadership he should bring. His star rating five years ago means nothing to me. He has been a part of a great program for four years and should bring an outstanding attitude, work ethic and dedication which I hope will be an example to others.
