I don't see a lot of critical needs for this class, except for Punter, which they definitely will need. I'd like to see at least one more DT and one OLB, and I always like to see a QB and RB, but other than that, this will be a great year to take the best available athletes, regardless of position. I hope they fill the class with nothing but 3-star players, to make Casper happy, and players with 2+ other offers, to make me happy. ;)

I'm with you L.C. If we wanna be a top 40-50 program we better start getting a bunch of the kind of guys you and I both like. 3-star guys with at least two other options that want to go to OHIO and end up playing for four years! That happens and we will both be happy campers:)

Speaking of top 40-50 ranking, what have we been ranked over the last several years?

Probably about the same as your post count regarding our record the past 2.4528 years. But much like those posts, it is in the past and does not matter.

Bedford football players can run track also. London Cloud anchored the winning 4 x 100 at the districts. There was a picture of him winning in the Beacon Journal. He is a big dude and if he runs like that watch out. Another member of the relay team was Odom. He also won the 200m, was 3rd in the 100. Some real speed here. Let's keep this pipeline going.

It appears that Ohio now has 5 verbals for 2016, though we only have names for 3.

Albin is the RB coach, maybe Chawntez Moss from Bedford? It drives me absolutely crazy that we have to wait for this info or dig through social media to find a clue.

I could probably accomplish some pretty impressive feats with all that digging time freed up.

I put halftime to good work and found one. Adam Notestine offensive tackle from Pickerington North is one of the 3 unknowns per his twitter profile. 6'-3" 323 lbs. Other offer was Ball State.

2 Star - 78 on 247sports
2 Star on Scout
Not ranked elsewhere.

Good job digging. I suspect he might be a cousin of Dak, so I thought he was a likely get. The other offer with family ties is the brother of Curtis Brunson. He appears to be hoping for a Michigan or Michigan State offer.

I'll tell you what I have decided aboutrec ruiting...it's fun to discuss these guys, it's fun to see who we are after and "get", and it's fun to talk about how many stars they have and how we are doing and everything. But, I'm gonna try to stop doing most of those things (haha).

The bottom line is recruiting does NOT end in February, it ends in July/august when these guys hit Athens. Or, when I actually see the guy in September in a bobcat uni. Then I will be convinced they are actually playing for the bobcats and not just a name on a piece of paper.

I don't have time to do the analysis but my gut tells me this class is now nowhere near as good as we thought it was in February. I think we have lost a lot of the non and partial qualifiers at least for this year. In the past, some of the guys like that have never ever turned up in a bobcat uni so why do we get so excited in February?

Even though this is in the 2016 thread, I'm assuming it is about the 2015 class. Yes, Ohio has a few guys that are no-shows, but it isn't a done deal that they won't be here in the fall. Even then, while there are some losses, there are also some late additions to the class that look promising. 2015 was surprising in the amount of late changes to the class.

Per Michael George's tweets they are now at 11 verbals, so there are two more that we don't know about yet. The prior record for recruits by the end of June was set last year at 6.

Nathan Murray is one so that leaves one that we are unaware of. And apparently this year's class will be 16 players? If so, that's only five guys left.

Well, there are 16 Seniors, but there are also 4 grayshirts taking 4 of those. There are always a few extra spots that open, so I have no idea how big the class will be. I'll be very surprised it is gets to 20, but if it happens, it won't be the first time I've been surprised.

In any case, it's not quite the end of June yet, and there are 12 verbals, doubling the prior record of 6. A decade ago we'd be in January, and still not have 12 verbals, so things have come a long way.

I was basing the 16 number on Coach George's #DreamGreen16 Tweets and didn't consider the grayshirts. I guess none of us know how those factor in to the 16. He indicated the 12th commitment today.

The 16 is just the year of the recruiting class. Last year is it was #DreamGreen15.

I'd sure like to see QB, TE, WR, & DT as the next commits

Ohio has taken a lot of very good WR in recent years, so I'm content with Odom, who looks like a good one. Rash, as an APB, could play WR as well. He's kind of a Walker/Garrett type of player.

I definitely would like to see some good players at those other positions, though.

In any case we're all caught up. There are 12 faces in Coach George's tweets, and we have 12 names.

Agree with both of you. Yes, recruiting is an ongoing process, and there will be changes to the list...bad and good. Biggest surprise last year was getting AJ! Anyone here talking about him last July 2?

Fact is, can't really get a good feel for any class until the kids have played for a couple yrs...

Looks like the class is going to be pretty much 2 or no stars guys with few P-5 offers. Quite a change from the last few years in that regard. With all the early verbals of guys who are mostly"under the radar" types, has there been a change in stategy on recruiting?
