He is quite the athlete, he has a nice arm and has a lot of intangibles. I am happy with both QB's

Well according to Allen on another post, one of these kids shouldn't come to OHIO, because we probably told one of them they would start.

Once again, you show the inability to use critical reasoning or reading comprehension. This topic is about a great QB coming to Ohio, not me versus you or optimism versus mediocrity. So let's talk elsewhere. God bless, can't wait to see this kid in green and white.

Seems to have offers from Iowa, Wake Forest, Purdue, and Minnesota, plus MAC offers from Buffalo, WMU, NIU, Miami, Toledo, EMU, and Ball State, as well as offers from Holy Cross, Columbia, Illinois State, Harvard, and Yale. It looks like another fine student-athlete.

Thanks, Ted. I was looking at the wrong place. These websites keep changing, and if I don't look at them regularly, I can misread them.

In any case, I like both these QB recruits a lot. Izzy's strategy of only going after really good QB's, and not settling for less is paying dividends.

It would be nice to have these guys this year so they could redshirt and learn the system but oh well.

These two will have two years to become bigger, stronger and faster before four years of eligibility start counting. Money in the bank.

One of them will probably start next year, unless someone drastically improves and I mean drastically. Nobody is owed that position. Let's go Cats, no automatic redshirts.

I with you on this one Allen. Some here believe somewhat in automatic red shirts. I'm of the mind that sometimes talent wins out. In the case of these two I think this may be the case. The more I watch these two on film (not that I watch that much film....cough cough) the more they seem to be as talented a two that we've ever landed. Not sure how that happened. Moloney didn't transfer to a championship school until last season. The Indiana QB mentioned proximity to home...guess he didn't like NIU.

I believe, they love the ability to play right away.

We don't know yet who will start this fall, but there's a good chance this year's starting QB(s) will graduate again, so it should be an open competition again when these guys are true freshmen. There will only be three other QBs on the roster at that point and it's possible Krizancic is moved back to wide receiver if he doesn't work out at QB. That would make it a very good possibility that one of them doesn't get redshirted. But then again, if they both come in and don't look the part right away, I'm sure the staff will do everything it can to redshirt them both.

Seems to me that Ohio has had multiple QB's who played some as freshmen and red shirted their soph year. May happen again with one of these guys.

that was through injury, these qb's seem to have more talent than anyone we have on the roster. I believe if they are 1 and 2, the second will redshirt, like Snyder and Tettleton in their sophomore years. If these guys can win the position, let them play.

I am amazed that some couch coaches believe a high school stud QB can easily walk on to campus and lead a D1 program to glory. That they are willing to trade fifth year senior production for true freshman production. Crutch helped as a true frosh but I sure would have loved to have seen him as a 5th year player.

I'm amazed that you have a short memory.

Let's just sit AJ on the bench as a Freshman and let everyone else fumble.

Hey if you believe that the best players can sit on the bench then fine....that's your opinion.

Of all positions on the roster, I think QB is the position where it is hardest for a player to come in and play well as a true freshman. Some players can come in and play a little as a true freshman, but usually with a limited playbook, and at a cost of more errors.

Why not just wait and see what happens? These players will come in and give it their best shot. If they can win playing time as a freshman, so be it. If they aren't ready for a couple years, that will be ok, too.

Ohio is solid at all the other positions. QB is the one position where recruiting has been iffy in recent years. With these two recruits, QB looks solid for years to come.

Did not say sit the best player. Crutch played as a frosh as he should have. Just don't see it happening much and not expecting these two to show up and beat the roster players I see already at Ohio.

I hope you're correct....that means one or more QBs have stepped up....we need that and I'm not totally against red shirting.
