He is a 4.6 guy at best, he will be a backup at OSU, he will be depth. Trae Williams dumped us for Northwestern, he could not crack the line up but he had the speed to play corner. OSU isn't hard to turn down if you will ride the pine. Ask Stephen Collier, Kyle trout, and even Joe Burrow. They could be NFL prospects but are stuck on the bench. Burrow looks like he has the tools. I can't tell you about Trout or Collier, because they didn't play, you have to be strategic. people watching your highlight tape shouldn't be weak, you have to be sober minded. Hopefully, he can beat out JK Dobbins, Demarion McCall and Antonio Williams.

It's my opinion that it's an OSU offer, and that even then he had a hard time decommitting. He said "watch me at 1pm", but it was a few hours after that before he finally decommitted.

I wish him well, we will get our guy. He was being lukewarm from the start, hopefully he goes somewhere that he can play. OSU has Mike Weber and all-Americans behind him. He can go to IU and play in three years but they will always be second fiddle in the B1G. Maybe, he will realize the opportunity that he has here. He can come and dominate on the field and get his metrics up

This is the world we live in. And, they are kids. So, I give them some breathing room, as frustrating as it is. If it is UC, he'll get to play. If it is OSU, you never know. I'm not sure I care if a RB's 40 is 4.3 or 4.6. Give me someone who sees the hole and hits it quickly, and blocks on passing plays. Luke Fickell will get recruits like this @ UC due to his OSU ties. He could get UC in the top 20 consistently -- heck, if Western Michigan can do it, why not UC?

He could do well at Cincinnati, they recruit 3 and 4 stars every year, so you can get lost in the sauce there. Speed is important because the college game is much faster than high school, linebackers close much faster. It is better to go where you know the school wants you and that you know you can play at, not a school's fourth or fifth option. I wish him well, he is my brother in the faith. I hope he is Donnie Nickey and not Jordan Nevels.

A guy who went 6-6 at osu is going to turn Cincy into a power? I'll believe it when I see it.

You have claimed that all these different players would dominate on the field here, where is this domination? You claimed Irons would dominate if given chances, I've yet to see this domination.

6-6 only a couple months removed from all the troubles and the removal of several of the top players in the B10 and nation did not really help him any. Tough to evaluate anything when you are part of the clean-up crew and know going in you are not the long term guy.

Irons had the same average as AJ and played with numerous injuries. Let's not forget how bad our line was and our ineffectiveness in the passing game. He and Brown would have dominated in a normal situation. Let it go, let the past beef go.

Agree 100% why has it taken him so long to get a HC job, while many others around him left for HC jobs?

I fully expect Fickell to do well there. What happened in 2011 happened. The fact he got the UC job is on par with where Urbans other coordinators went to. Sure Rutgers is P5, but os ot better than Cincy?

The biggest reason why Fickell will thrive is because of his connections in Ohio. No kid who goes under the radar in Ohio will be missed by him and his staff. Unlike our staff, they will have Cincy/Dayton and Columbus turned inside out and can actually get kids from there. Just personal opinion, I like having one coach come from the hs ranks who is respected in a recruiting territory by both players and hs coaches just so they can turn over all rocks.

There is no reason why UC should not be in the top 25 all the time. That region of the state is not as buckeye brainwashed as the rest of Ohio.

I have no idea if Fickell can pull it off. But, I assume he is hitting the ground in a sprint regarding recruiting Ohio and surrounding states. And he'll steal guys like Morgan Ellison fairly easily. (Assuming that is where Ellison is going. I wouldn't rule out Minnesota either.).

Looking at his twitter, he still likes Ohio, but seems to be angling for an OSU offer. He did add a couple more offers today, Duquesne and Savannah State, but none from OSU yet. If an OSU offer comes, I think he'll accept, but if one doesn't come, I'm thinking he'll pick between Ohio and UC.

My concern/confusion is that he was the one tweeting over the weekend that "everyone is committing" and then he decommits. Hopefully he was not the ring leader of the group and can talk others away.

Not surprised by the #24 RB in 2017 opening his committment. I dont think OSU will offer him per say but I do see Cincy coming in to take top MAC recruits. Belive or not...recruits would play for Fickell at UC. Their defense is going to be better. Wish we could have played and beat them before this season. We would have had a bigger footprint in the Nati. I say he still signs with us after not getting the OSU scholly. Hopefully someone like Indiana, Purdue or Minnesota doesnt swoop in. I could see him picking Cincy over us. There is one more recruit in this class I feel this way about as well. Hopefully he sticks....

It's a big decision, can't blame him from looking at options. Ohio seems like a good spot for him so if he considers it carefully I think the Bobcats still have a good shot.

And, for better or worse, the RB depth chart did open up a little bit in the past week.

right he would just be going there to lay in the big ten, he would not be going there to win. I personally think we are a better team than Indiana and we are better for him. He can play bigger school, he can dominate. I have seen numerous kids go to Indiana because they were in the big ten and it was hard to dominate, numerous Glenville kids. Why go somewhere where they lose, that is like going to Kansas, we will be Kansas every year in most cases. Hagan had an offers from Power 5 schools, he came here to grow and dominate and he is a freshman all-American. Sometimes you have to look at the whole picture. Some medi's will look at the MAC versus the big ten. There will be three of four players taken in this draft from the MAC before anyone is drafted from Indiana. if Corey Davis got weak because people looked at his tapes at WMU and he transferred to Indiana, he might not be getting drafted in the first round, the same could be said for Khalil Mack and Eric Fisher. he can come here, he can lead this team, we can potentially be WMU and he could be a big reason why or he could be a Big Ten bottom feeder. Same thought with some people here, why would Burrow not go to OSU, the reason is just like Big Ben analyzed when he turned down OSU. He knew he could go to Miami and lead, he believed in his self and the system he was going into and he made it happen. He was not mediocre, he knew what he could do. His junior year, they lost to Iowa and crushed everybody else, including blowouts of Northwestern and Colorado State and beating a ranked Bugs and Louisville. We keep steering this kid away with our pitiful thinking. Stop

Indiana's had RBs drafted the last two drafts. There are worst places to land, even in the B1G.

I also get the sense that Ellison is flattered by the attention more than anything. We'll see where he goes. I don't think osu will offer, but I think it's most likely that he lands at a lower tier B1G school. I'd say 50% change B1G, 30% chance UC, 20% chance Ohio.

Per twitter, looks like Frank was in Florida last night visiting the commits. I wonder if he's looking for an Ellison replacement while he's down there.

I was just thinking the same thing, Jordan Howard and Tevin Coleman, who wound up being a rather hot commodity in my fantasy football league the later part of the year.

The Hoosiers were no pushover this year. They gave Michigan all they could handle (I was @ that game, Indiana was no patsy) and only lost to #23 Utah in their bowl game by 2 points. Indiana was good and in my opinion would have beaten Ohio this past year; their SOS was much higher.

Were it not for a guy named Zeke Elliott at Ohio State, it's possible Tevin Coleman was the best RB in the Big Ten while he was in Bloomington. I agree with you C. Money, there are worse places to go.
