Ideally, redshirt him during Rourke's jr. year, back him up as a frosh, then starter his last 3 years.
if u do what u suggest and he's any good, u risk losing him as a grad transfer...

And if you don’t redshirt him but don’t play him much his fresh year, you still get three years out of him. So, if you may lose him possibly, you’d want to burn a year? All to get the same amount (possibly least, because he could play his senior year) of playing time. This just makes no sense to me. Let’s not be spiteful because we have been burned by one athlete due to the grad transfer rule.

No need to mischaracterize anything I said. Nothing I wrote was "spiteful," just pointing out a risk, one that I'm certain the coaching staff will consider. If he's as good as some people on this board seem to think, he may be ready to back up at QB as a true frosh. It'll be interesting to see how it unfolds.

I'm sorry to mischaracterize, and 'spiteful' is strong, I just don't get the thought of wasting a year rather than redshirting. If he's not going to play either way, the advantage is to redshirt. It provides that fourth year that would have significant value. I wish we had four years of Rourke rather than just three.

I also think that the idea of a starting QB at a smaller school graduating and going to a bigger school is not too likely. Sure, there's maybe a case or two, but I think the more likely grad transfers come from backups at big schools looking to start. I don't think too many elite DI schools would want a one year hire when they likely have big-time recruits coming in every year.

Haven't heard or seen anything from Joe as of yet. So is Joe in or will he be out? What do you think?

He will be in, he has been busy winning championships, don't let fear overtake you.

I think Mischler is in. https://twitter.com/joemischler11?lang=en

Another Prep player I love who I think would fit in at Ohio is wr Tyler Odekoven-legit sub 4.5 40, great hands, first team all-state last year. Needs a little more strength-nothing a good program cant fix.

Only offer I know of is from Albany St. He reminds me of Ed Hinkel, played for Prep graduated in 2000 went to Iowa and became their all-time leading receiver. Dont know if that record still holds. Impresses everyone at camps not sure why, as far as I know, he doesnt have more offers.

Just looked up this school. It's a very selective school with high academic standards. This kid will do well in the classroom. Will help our APR and hopefully our offensive game totals!

247 sports says he has offers from Harvard and Columbia so I think he’ll do okay academically.
