I guarantee this is all about playing time. He can start with Baker now. Then you have big McCracken joining the trenches and we have several defense lineman that are over 300 lbs. We will definitely stop the run next year.
This DT signing reminds me of Irons at RB over the PAC-12 schools. Totally changes DT within the program.

He may be a 3 and out guy, he has size heart and determination. He picked the perfect place because he will play right away. He may be a freshman all-american like Hagan. Great signing.

I will be curious as to how those that rate the recruiting classes rank us this year.

Usually we are somewhere in the middle of the MAC or lower.

I’m thinking Suh and others might push us to the top.

If his weightroom credentials are what they are.....he is our Ed Oliver to Houston. At this point it will be if he is a Day 2 or Day 3 draft. My hopes are really high with this guy. He is a program changer.

If his video is what it is with some decent competition he seems to be unblockable.

Videos can be deceiving. Irons turned out ok but his vid looked he was playing against junior high teams.

Is there more to the story we don't know?
Exactly the first thing I thought as well.

Has to be something's up, although he must be academically qualified if he's planning on enrolling in January.
I hope not.

If you watch his video you have to ask the question how can somebody pull his offer.
It will be interesting to hear more about his story and how he ended up at Ohio. We'll see how it turns out but it may turn out to be the best oline and dline class in some time. Last 3 recruiting classes look very promising.

Perhaps someone else posted this, if so I missed it, but I just saw a story that indicated Daxon has only been in this country about two years. He is originally from The Bahamas, and moved to Miami to play high school football. Seems like there is a theme here . . . sort like the story with Air Canada. Maybe he liked the international flavor of our team. Just a wild guess. . .

You are correct OCF.

Imagine how good he can be with OUr coaching.

Looks like a Freshman All American.

I saw that story as well. I'm curious if the Bahamas Bowl exposure helped us at all.

In addition to only being in the country two years, he hadn't played football growing up so he's still learning. With that in mind, I think him coming here makes a lot of sense considering the experience level of our staff. He's clearly got the raw talent to contribute immediately, but he's probably also someone who would benefit the most from just focusing on getting better/refining his game... Although I'm really a believer in the "learn through experience" method.

There’s only one obvious reason to me that we were able to land this guy. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Possible that he needs to finish up academically Spring was icing on the cake he really doesn't have to be here until next Fall with the incoming class.

He already signed in December. Feb. 6 should be a quiet day as I don't think any more signatures are expected.
