Burrow is going up there to compete, not run away from a challenge! Best of luck to him.

A big article basically saying a kid was recruited to sit on the bench and is not a top QB. And, how happy everyone is about it, including the recruit. "We really want you to come here just in case the guys we really really really want to come here then next few years don't." Very strange.

Uh, here's a line from the article: "If they want to take shots at highly-ranked, out-of-state players, the Buckeyes first had to lock down the in-state product who will serve as a security blanket should Ohio State strike out on the elite prospects at his position."

Security blanket. Oh my.

Coach Meyer: "Listen kid, I need you to come here and I'll stick you on the top shelf of the hall closet and if I'm really desperate I may pull you out of there to help out. How's that sound?"

Stud QB Kid: "Hell yes!".....

Me: Uh...what?....

I hope Burrow ends up a 4 year starter and NFL millionaire. I do. But his OSU career is off to a weird start.

That's just some writer's characterization of the whole situation. I am sure that guy has done nothing more than ask Urban Meyer a few questions at a press conference, and his insights probably include reading one of Ohio State's many fan websites.

I was told that Ohio State views Burrow as a taller JT Barrett - good leader, very accurate, mobile enough to make plays, spreads the ball around, but doesn't have a cannon arm by high-end college standards.

I believe Ohio State is chasing Torrance Gibson from FL, but most teams view him as a WR and are likely giving him the "we'll give you a shot at QB" to land him before moving him to WR during fall camp.

Yeah, but the eyeball test says that just can't be right.

I'm sorry, did he re-open his recruitment in such a way that Ohio is involved whereby this becomes relevant?

It took 10 weeks, but Joey has now thrown more incomplete passes than touchdowns. 45 to 42, that is an amazing statistic!

I would say it's relevant to people who live in SE Ohio, and many who are on this site do. If you want to watch an awesome high school athlete before he takes his talent to a bigger stage, you have few chances remaining.

Why not post on Williams' recruiting thread how he did v. DeSales? Or the previous game? Or how he did against Granville the week before that?

This is an Ohio University message board, isn't it?

Maybe you should look at the Williams page, I have the last post on that page, and from the number post post, there is more interest here. And your man crush of following my post is making me a little nervous!

Agree we need to start a category "local high schoolers of interest" that way those that want to follow how a local kid is doing have a place to post and this category is reserved for recruits that selected ohio and are relevant to the program.

I dunno. Guys getting testy over small stuff is part of the good fun here. Don't remove it or stop it.

Dude oughts to OHIO where he can show he's a stud and will be found if he is...versus significant chance of buried on bench in columbus.

Monroe, Burrow coming here would be your worse nightmare, because he would never be under center and it's a guarantee their would be a 1 back and no back set for 4 years. ;-)

Athens will play former OHIO University defensive coordinator Nick Toth and Toledo Central Catholic next Thursday for the State Title. Burrow was 33 of 44 for 322 yards and 4 TD's with no INT's. Kid was an absolute stud!

I believe on the season, he has 57 touchdowns and just 1 interception. Wow.
