Isn't there some sort of exception which allows a home town high school senior to play for the home town college team.

This makes sense.

I would hope that so long as his dad is on staff, he would pick Ohio over every other MAC school and the low-level BCS schools (Illinois, Kentucky) that are interested in him. If he adds offers from some top-25 kind of teams, I certainly would understand the decision to take one of those chances, but even then, I'd hope he'd do so only if he thought that school was interested in him being more than just a backup. I do understand the other MAC schools making offers, though. You never know when things can change.

Not every 18 year-old is going to want to play on his dad's team (even if on the opposite squad), or go to the home town University...

Still, I think it would be better if he picks someone other than Ohio, that he picks someone that doesn't play Ohio.  It would be a bad thing to put dad in a position of trying to blitz and sack his own son, especially if the result was an injury.  Conversely if would also be bad for son to show how to torch dad's defense.

Then again, it would be bad for BG, Beefs, kents and ECU and others to torch our defense.

After every FBS school in the nation makes an offer, he'll sign with OHIO!

Sadly, I believe this is very unlikely,

What are the odds Joey goes where daddy goes, if daddy gets a head job elsewhere? I could see that happening more than anything.

Highly doubt that Coach Burrow lands a Head Coaching gig on the level to which Joey will land. No DC or position coach?

This needs to be said IMO...

After watching the Athens/Warren game tonight, I'm not so sure I want Burrows as a QB. The more I see him, the more I realize that his body language and leadership skills are atrocious. He lacked any energy or competitive spirit it seemed...just acted like he'd rather be somewhere else. This is not unusual for him, and I've gotten to several Athens games this year. He may have the skills to be a D1 quarterback, but I just don't think he'll be able to handle the mental part of the game. Some legitimate question marks there if you ask me. It's like he's taken some cues from TT in regards to pouting.

And why is this post allowed to remain on this board?? First off you're talking about a FRIGGIN KID A JUVENILE. Secondly NO ONE ASSOCIATED WITH OHIO FOOTBALL WOULD WANT ANYONE OTHER THAN TYLER TETT FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS TO BE THE OHIO QB. SO YOUR OPINION SMELLS THE OPPOSITE OF ROSES. YES OHIO WANTS BURROW AS DO A TON OF OTHER PROGRAMS.

Jay Cutler acts like he'd like to be doing anything BUT play football too, but I'd take him as the Bobcats QB. lol

Of course it is not fair to a young man to be compared to one who proceed him--but I'll ask anyway.

Which quarterback(s) would the young Burrow remind people of?

Andrew Luck. I ain't saying he's a #1 NFL pick, but his game is Luck-ish.

I am sure you mean in style. Certainly not in skill.

At this point in Luck's life he had offers in hand from every university in the country and was ranked at or near the top of every list for QBs. It is unfair to compare and the association to Andrew Luck is why. I'm sure he is a good kid, a fine player and one Ohio should pursue. But there are scores of QBs ranked ahead of him. Let's just let the kid have a fun senior year and go from there.
