Sadly out of town and didn't get chance to see the game ... first one I've missed this year.

Sounds like they finally put together a complete effort and buried a horrific opponent like they should've done.

Well done!

Keep chopping wood and hope UB slips up once!

Bulls look like they'll be tough to catch tho

Ohio doesn't need Buffalo to slip up as long as it doesn't again but that's a big if. I do feel better about those chances after Saturday. As bad as Bowling Green is overall, the Falcons have been decent on offense and Ohio shut them down after the first 20 minutes. Two of Bowling Green's first three drives went for touchdowns. After that, only one drive netted more than 20 yards.

Amazing effort. I believe that this team is beginning to gel and develop at the right time. This team is clearly improving. Keep it up, Bobcats. I am loving what I am seeing.

Yes ... mathematically, you are correct.

But beating a bad BG team at home who just fired their coach is one thing ...

Winning on road at Miami or WMU ... two places Ohio has had issues ... is another.

Not sure I'm 100% confident in this team playing a complete game on the road vs decent opponents.

So I'm still hoping Buffalo lays an egg somewhere before Athens. I think that's Ohio's best chance at winning the East

Buffalo beating Toledo did us no favors. That's one of those wins I wasn't expecting them to get out of a cross-divisional game, which is why in the current alignment it is imperative to win those games. Similar to what Purdue did last night, the fact they "stole" a win against a team you would expect them to lose to is huge. Their margin for error got a whole lot bigger on the division side than say, Wisconsin, who still has to go to Penn State. In our case, we gotta win at WMU no questions asked or this discussion becomes moot in a real hurry. If I argue any games are must wins right now are Ball State and WMU. Lose those, and I don't see Buffalo slipping at least twice in division or another cross division choke job.

Nice to see the punter and place kicker getting the virtual day off at Peden!

Reminded me of Homecoming vs Miami years back when Zac Dysert moved the Red Hawks down the field on the first possession to get 7 then it was ALL Bobcats the remainder of the day.

Way to take care of business Bobcats!

Some thoughts after watching the replay today:

Finally, we get both sides of the ball executing. I know it was BG, but if you don't execute against the bad teams it can bite you (such as happened vs Kent).

I liked some of the different looks. The reverse to Papi was great. BG was caught completely flat-footed.

Too bad Maleek didn't get a TD. Would've been a nice present for his mom on her first trip to Athens.

Once again we get beat deep early in the game. These guys have to know it's coming because it's happened every game but one. Are they not paying attention?

We still need to win out to win the division and that's probably the way it'll be for the rest of the season.

The "playoff" for the MAC East begins next week. Fiami-Buffalo Oct 30; Ohio-Fiami Nov 7; Buffalo-Ohio Nov 14.

Papi White was on fire for the first 1.5 quarters. So much so that my son, admittedly not a big football fan, asked if he will be playing in the NFL.

I thought #25, LB Gullett, was very active v. BG. The athletic dept. website has his stats for this game and this season attributed to Shane Hooks. Unless I'm mistaken, you'd think they'd get this right 7 games into the season.

The morning drive to SE Ohio and the first hour in Athens yesterday started out "murky" - to quote a couple of Bobcat boosters - but the sun started to come out during the parade and it turned out to be a nice, albeit breezy, day in Athens. Unfortunately, the final home Saturday of the fall.

My only regret of the weekend? Not seeing Alan Swank's offer of tickets to see Hubby Jenkins Saturday night until it was too late. My son and I have always wanted to see Hubby Jenkins.

What a great weekend.

Almost didn’t make it since The Skull manager was buying us drinks. The new bar next door The Cats Corner was also very cool. We put OUr RVs at Lake Snowden and that was fun.

Keep Gullets speed at LBer. Keep giving Maleek the ball.

Don’t lay an egg Thursday night...I’ll be in Vegas.

Was able to watch the first and early part of the 2nd quarter on TV and was a bit nervous that it was going to be a 4 quarter scoring fest. Glad the Cats put the clamps down and had a great defensive game. Sometimes I think it's great for a defense to have a game where they can pin their ears back and dominate, even if against an over matched opponent.

I don't know what the locker room dynamics are at BG right now-it very well could be in a tailspin. But 14 points was their lowest output in MAC play by a good margin. It may not mean much moving forward but for one day at least it means Ohio fans can enjoy a good performance from a defense that has been quite frustrating to watch.

Thursday night kicks off the gauntlet the Cats will have to run to make it to Detroit. A win here keeps a good head of steam going. A loss with back to back road games that will be tough to win coming up would not be good.

Interestingly, I noticed that a BGSU billboard went up in my neighborhood right before this game. I live on the west side of Chicago.

I really really doubt that this will influence any kids in my neighborhood to go to Bowling Green, Ohio.
