Miami has to win three straight games to get to bowl eligibility: home vs Ohio, at NIU and home vs Ball State.

They'll put up a big fight just for that reason alone and it will be close for a half.

Ohio - 38
Miami - 21

Go OHIO!
I like that score!!

I'm going to assume Miami's injuries on the defensive side of the ball are legit:

Ohio - 35
Miami - 24

Critical game for Ohio. They to win this game to have a chance vs Buffalo for the east title. This is a road rivalry game. Ohio lost last year vs Akron in a similar matchup. Tough matchup with Miami offense vs Ohio pass defense.
I think the only things stopping ohio from beating Akron and Miami are a glut of turnovers or really poor offensive execution. I really hope they beat miami so the buffalo game has meaning for a MAC championship appearance. Will be interesting to see if the secondary can contain the deep pass against buffalo: last year's game was lost in the first quarter under a hail of bombs by the buffalo offense

agreed with both. I hope it is a blowout but i think 35-24 could be closer to the truth. but if the miami d is as hurt as advertised, Ohio could do 50+ points. I'd go 42-24, Ohio

I see a game similar to last year. Miami will score. Ragland is very accurate. I believe we will score more and the 4th quarter will not have too much drama (if we hang on to the ball. see: 1 or fewer turnovers).

You'll have to give me a little latitude: I watched a little of Clemson-Louisville over the weekend and then projected that on to OHIO-Miami. And, then I took into account that Miami always sucks, and what other logical conclusion could one come to? ;-)

Trap game? We don't have the luxury of calling any game a trap game. We have to win 4 straight so every game is a trap game.
I worry about overconfidence, and not being ready emotionally for this game. Miami will play us tough and challenge us physically.

Just finished listening to the Coaches press conference.
Now I have been listening to Frank for all the years he has been at Ohio and I detected he has quite a bit of confidence in HOW this team gets ready for each game. I believe that he believes we can win these next 3 game to get us to Detroit. At the same time he does a good job of keeping the teams heads on straight. He did state this team appears to be level headed and they know what to do to win.

Martin couldn't remember Rourke's name in the presser. Kept calling him "OU's guy". Bulletin board gift.

Hottest player in the conference right now and can't remember his name.

As much as some of us like to complain, it's good to have Frank.

In the post-Big Ben era, Miami teams have been better on paper than on the field. For 15 years, they have found a variety of ways to lose. Things seem to be getting more and more frustrating in Oxford and a big change is not on the horizon yet. This has all been good for Ohio, of course, and hopefully it continues. But beware of a sleeping tiger.

From what the local sports press reports, the players have remained businesslike though they have beat the tar out of the last three opponents. One thing I took as a good sign, if I have Arkley's report correct, is that there was zero talk/celebration re becoming bowl eligible. Another real nice thing for morale going into the final stretch is the opportunity the backups got to play due to the blowouts: everyone is involved and working hard as we go down the stretch

I guess a nice feather in Frank's cap could be the number of Miami coaches he has helped to usher out the door.

Since he's been in Athens, Miami is on what, coach number 4, soon to be 5?

Say what you want about Frank's total body of work, but life's been good under him when it comes to Miami (and Marshall).

Hopefully Coach Solich has reminded the team about their nosedive late last year which consequently keeps them focused on each game that lies in front of them now. I'm sure last year is still fresh in all the players' minds.

It is hard to imagine the offense not having a big night, but I could see the defense struggling, and some big plays and/or turnovers could flip the result. If I were a gambling man I would definitely take the over 61.5. I'll say Ohio 44-31.

Harvard scientist have posited that an asteroid from beyond our solar system could possibly be a product of alien technology (based on its relative speed and movements while entering and exiting our system).
More here: https://www.popsci.com/oumuamua-alien-lightsail

I refuse to believe this. There is only one place on earth that could both pull in and expel an object in such a manner (especially once the interstellar visitors got a glimpse of those popped-collared Oxfordians). Short answer – Miami Sucks!

Go Bobcats.

anyone watching in the cbus vicinity? As a cord cutter who can't get to Oxford tonight, I'm heading out to watch. Bdubs on Bethel has sound boxes, so that's my first choice. Blarney Stone has game but live music as well.

Every game is critical, but not every game is a trap game as usually defined. We’ll see if the Cats can keep hot. I expect a really tough game here as Martin fights for his life as coach. The talent level also seems pretty close.

All week out here in Iowa, there has been a westerly wind with a steady drop in the temperature. I can only surmise that Miami's suck extends even out here.

I think they win this one handily. That line Vegas put up makes me worry I'm wrong, though. It feels like Ohio should be a touchdown favorite in this one.

I live in Butler County, 20 minutes from Yeager, the epicenter, and it' almost unlivable here. It knows no boundaries!
