It seems that, at this time of the year, we start hearing whispers about Bobcats being drafted. With the draft very near, are there any rumblings about OHIO players going this year? I kept waiting to hear about Lowery as a big time draft prospect, but it doesn't seem like it's materialized.

What about next year? Is Javon a strong prospect for the draft? Anybody else?

I think Javon Hagan has a chance to be a late day one pick or day two player and maybe one of the highest draft picks in modern Ohio history. He is a complete safety; he has the physical tools and they play him all over the field. I'd be interested to see how fast his 40 is: barring disaster, I see him getting a combine invite. I got to think worst case he will time in the 4.5-4.6 range but could be faster. He is not now as fast as Mike Mitchell was but I think he is a very well-rounded player, probably better than Mitchell all-around. Last year Hagan jumped several passes and, if he catches more than half of those this year, he'll finish in the 7-ish int range. Then NFL scouts will look at the tape and see him playing in the box, in man, in zone, special teams, and he will be on the radar.

Punter Michael Farkas and K Louis Zervos have a real chance to be drafted late or make a team. Michael Farkas is very impressive, probably the most so since Dave Zastudil-he may not boom punts quite as high and far but is very versatile and accurate. And he is clutch. Cant put a price on that. Zervos did not have his best year from an accuracy standpoint but did significantly improve his distance, going from 45ish with accuracy to 50+ish with accuracy. Huge difference. If Zervos can put up accuracy numbers close to his first year, I think he has a chance.

Austin Pleasants has a chance if he has a good year and gets stronger and quicker...gotta be tough to transition from right to left as a senior but I think he has the skills. And succeeding at both left and right tackle gives you the prized versatility.

Nathan Rourke may get a late draft pick. If I am the Baltimore Ravens building a program with Lamar Jackson at QB I am definitely interested in how Rourke does this year. if you want a backup with a similar traits, you might have something here. Lamar is quicker and probably faster but Rourke executes better. Rourke is probably the best QB running the ball I've seen in Ohio history- he has everything: all the physical and mental traits. I've never seen anyone at Ohio understand option offense like Rourke does. Also, his accuracy improved significantly last year but adding another 5% this year would do wonders for scout's perception of him: a nice, clean progression: 55/60/65....Where I would guess I'd hope to see improvement is his throwing accuracy early in the game: I dont know for sure but I think his second half accuracy is much better than first half so far.

Unfortunately my neighbor's daughter is about as accurate as Kiper - I'm amazed he is kept around by ESPN - just God awful

I'd be stunned if Lowery wasn't drafted. The Browns brought him in as one of their 30 allotted player visits and Dorsey really seems to focus on those 30 players when drafting.

The TV talking heads mentioned during the Frisco Bowl that TE Connor Brown would draw some interest from NFL teams, so he may either be drafted or become a UDFA.

He was part of a high school offensive line that had about 4 all-state linemen, and came to Ohio and did well, but he was hampered by injury most of the time. In his 6th year, it seemed like his injuries were finally under control, and he probably had his best year. I wish him good luck.

I want those two on my preseason NFL team to compete against the bluebloods. These Bobcats are men who know how to win!

I’m not really surprised none were drafted when you consider the total number of draft eligible prospects. However I am very surprised that more have not signed undrafted free agent deals with teams yet.
