Did they play that hype video I posted at any point during the game? Lesson learned from last year's UC game: loud, obnoxious rap music has a home in a college football stadium.

Also did anyone see the poor high school flag corps girl who got belted in the face with the ball after one of RI's late first half fade routes bounced off the back of the end zone?

It is rare and nice when the punter is never used in a game.
I couldn't help but notice, sitting 4 rows up from the URI bench, an asst coach yelling "Red Alert. . . Red Alert" every time Ohio got in a 3rd situation, getting his team's punt return lineup ready to take the field. Late in the 3rd quarter, after hearing this for the 10th or so time, I suggested to this coach that calling out "Red Alert" wasn't necessary; that Ohio hasn't punted the ball yet today and wasn't going to.

Only 16K on a sunsplashed home opener? The student side looked full on the broadcast. The press box side looked surprisingly thin.

This crowd would have been announced at 19 or 20000 a few years ago...right? Something has changed the last couple of years in how attendance is figured.

My thoughts on this game centers around area of improvement; dumb mistakes and pass defense; i.e. our special team player running into our punt catcher and the sideline penalty.
I thought our pass D needs some work. We should not allow any WR get behind our D.
Clean these things up and we become a better team.

So 16,000+ and we’re 2nd in the MAC in attendance(ESPN doesn’t list BG that I could find). Not of the games very very compelling, but this is not good.

Or the season ticket sales are down, thus you can’t count them if they’re not there.

Good point. Also having this first game on a Saturday afternoon of the first weekend back isn't the same as a night game as in several years past. Regardless, dwindling live attendance at games is the present day reality for many schools.

As a long time fan, I have been upset with our fans many times in the past, but this game had me fired up! Absolutely no excuse for such a poor showing on a perfect weather Saturday. The students showed up pretty well, it was the rest of us. I always think of band day as a requirement tool and a chance to showcase to new people that OSU isn't the only major football in the state. Saturday did not help that perception. I just don't know how to change it. Frustrating.
BTW... yes you can reserve a spot in Tail-great park, but it is first come first serve still and I was able to park there with my blue pass (first time ever parking there)

It's interesting, and important, to take a deeper look at the Bobcats performance as they move into their toughest 3-game stretch of the season. Starting with a visit to Heinz Field to battle ACC representative Pittsburgh and coach Pat Narduzzi.

The folks who take that deeper look? Pro Football Focus. Here's how they saw Ohio's performance on Saturday.
