These results are not surprising on this board. Generally speaking in my experience, those Ohio alums who root for OSU do not care at all about Ohio athletics and therefore would not be on this board. If we were somehow able to present this poll to all Ohio alums it would be depressing results.
Sad but true.

I cheer for UC, Tennessee, Clemson and Iowa for a variety of reasons.

But I bleed green above all.

Went to bed after OSU took the lead in the 2nd half. At that point it was pretty clear OSU was going to win. My Mom’s a Wisconsin grad so I was really pulling for the Badgers.

]

The team took no action. Eventually, the league suspended him for 1/2 of the upcoming bowl. Same as if it was a "targeting" penalty without all the other crap he did.

How can a person pull against tOSU and pull for a program like Tennessee?

And all this living vicariously through LSU business? People, puh-leeze.

Unfortunately, that's a litmus test that your team probably can't pass, either.

Which of my teams? Ohio or Vanderbilt?

If you want to know how much it takes for ut to kick a player off the team...the answer is... boast about shooting cops...

Pick one. And if you pick Vandy, take it up on an SEC board.

Speaking of OSU, Clemson OLB K.J. Henry is son of former Bobcat LB coach Keith Henry. K.J. was born in Athens.

Then why does the Burrow kid get a parade in Athens, the key to the city, a day named after him, an honorary reserved parking spot at Walmart... and the kid at Clemson gets nothing. Absolutely nothing. Doesn't seem fair.

Because he didn't graduate from Athens. The community didn't get to watch him through high school or else they would support him 100%

But he was born in Athens and his dad coached at Ohio.

Maybe he could get, let's say... 60% of the Burrow level of hoopla.**

**Calculating the level of hoopla he's entitled to is an inexact science.

The kid from Clemson was 2 when the family moved. That’s why! And people who know the family and remember KJ, do talk about him and wish him well. This really Frost’s your cornflakes doesn’t it? If you don’t like it, skip the thread.

When people pooh pooh, mock, take shots at a phenomenal quarterback who grew up in Athens, dad coached for our beloved Alma mater etc, you have to wonder if those mocking the kid ever lived in Athens? Not to mention the fact that Joe Burrow is actually helping the area through increased interest and tourism coming from Louisiana. Perhaps there are some serious high school athlete jealousy issues, either way it's truly mind boggling.

Brought in millions last weekend, I hear. Just wait til he wins the Heisman. Athens might have to build a couple more hotels.

Actually, has increased bar revenue and there was a tour bus of 25-30 fans in Athens last week from Louisiana. I’d say If we measure the metric of value the same way Athletics mentions the value of a Bowl game at 6-6 with the number of times OHIO University gets mentioned on ESPN, or the ticker runs OHIO across the bottom during the $35k we paid to play in the CIT, the Burrow story has had to be worth millions. All the interviews, and the number of times the town, city or University are mentioned.

I mean, if we justify one expense for free mentioning son national media, then what is having the University mentioned every time a story airs. Especially the 800 shots of him as a kid playing on or in Peden.

Are you saying that both of the QBs in the national championship game lived part of their lives in Athens, and both of their fathers were coaches at Ohio?

No. One QB and one DE and both very good.
