Buffalo should be favored. We might be. It is a long trip for us but it isn't exactly right in Nevada's back yard.

My projections

Buff > Char
KSU < USU
CMU < SDSU
EMU < PITT
WMU < WKU
OU > NEV
Redchickens < UL

Capital One Bowl Challenge
MAC goes 2 - 5. Buffalo becomes 2nd team in years to win a bowl game in the MAC besides OU.

Toledo sitting at home goes to show how important it is to finish the season strong. The 52-3 win at Akron probably extended a nad from the committee to play along with Frank's winning mark and Nathan's accomplishments.

Extra practices means alot whether most agree or not. And to hit the recruiting trail as a coach to say hey...we are looking to get better and we need you here ....oh by the way...we are playing in our XXth bowl game. It can sway a player and Toledo might suffer just a tad bit in recruiting.

Ohio and Buffalo have to two easiest matchups. Those will both be wins.

Toledo lost the last three games and two of them were by big margins. Also the Rockets dismissed two coaches and another coach left for a head coaching position at a smaller school. Wondering if the Rockets had some problems internally the last part of the season?

I’m smelling 3 wins for the MAC. Maybe Buffalo and Ohio and either Eastern! WMU or Kent. I’m just not a Pitt fan, they can’t score and are way too conservative. I’m doubting they’re excited about their draw. WMU can score so you never know in a shootout.
I’m also a big fan of Kent’s coach and QB.

If La doesn’t smoke Miami I’ll be surprised even with their good defense.

Re Kent's QB. Dustin Crum is among the MAC's most improved players. And if I am recalling correctly, he has another season to go at Kent.

He does. He was selected MAC first team by at least 1 media source. 18-2 TD to int and better % (By 7%) and rating than Nathan. Not as good running because of porous line and sacks. He will be a handfull next year and probably favored to be first team preseason.

Agree on Kent's QB and Coach.
My son goes there and I was able to make it to 4 games this year.
Lewis and his staff are doing a great job.
I give him 2 more years there......maybe 1.

I just dont see EMUs DBs stopping PITTs receivers. MIAMI has the best DBs in the conference. And they would be about equal to PITTs receiving core.

Utah State's QB will declare for the draft but will still play in the bowl game vs Kent. ESPN has him as the #7 QB eligible for the draft. He's expected to be a first-round pick. He'll graduate this month with one year of college eligibility left.

If he can get Kent St. to a bowl win this year and maybe a 7-5 record or better next year, he's gone after next year. That's a heck of a coaching job!

As to the number of MAC bowl wins, until someone else other than Ohio wins a bowl game, I'll believe when I see it. For the last several years all of the other MAC schools just s*** the bed when they play a bowl game.

I see the MAC going 3-4, with EMU getting run off the field by Pitt. They do win for game closest to campus, though.

Feel bad for whichever commentators are assigned the First Responders Bowl. Will have to really focus on saying the second part of both team's name to make the distinction. I'm sure it's pretty common for both WMU and WKU to be referred to as "Western" a few times a game or more. Won't be surprised if it's said more than once in this one.

ESPN rolls out the best of the 40 bowl games, ranks our bowl 39th and takes a swipe at a 6-6 MAC team that's playing in a bowl.

Honestly, I think our game on paper will be one of the more entertaining bowl games. There should definitely be a few points put on the scoreboard by the end of the day in Boise. The writer of this article might have egg on his face at the end of this one.

How does the four letter network get to criticize a 6-6 mac team in a bowl? They freaking run college football and own half of these bowls

A close read of the article didn't say that at all. The writer made a point that all bowl games are good. He simply mentioned that "some" joke about a 6 and 6 MAC team. He actually call thiem "poor misguided souls."

We are still ranked 39 out of 40. I can't imagine our game will be the second worst bowl game to watch.

Nevada was already was on the struggle bus, they’ve fired 3 defensive coaches, and suspended 4 starters on defense. The best part about this game is the Bobcats are playing, after that it gets dull real quick to me.

Buffalo is looking good near the end of half in the Bahamas bowl. They are up 14 with the ball in 49er territory.

This could be the lowest scoring Bahamas Bowl yet. Just 17 points in the first half. The fewest points in a BB was in 2016 when ODU beat EMU 24-20. Fewest points by one team was 6 by UAB vs Ohio.

Well so far, the MAC’s in 1st place for the conference standings! 😆😆

Good for Buffalo; good to see the MAC get off to a good start.
