Well so far, the MAC’s in 1st place for the conference standings! 😆😆

Good for Buffalo; good to see the MAC get off to a good start.
And if Kent beats Utah St, the MAC will have as many bowl wins today as it did during the past three seasons combined.

Correction: As many wins as OHIO during the last three seasons combined.

P.S. Anyone that watched football today has to be worried about Ohio's chances in MAC East in 2020. Kent & Buffalo look like teams on the rise compared to Ohio.

That’s okay. What did having the best team (on paper) in 2017 and 2018 get Ohio? I’m looking forward to next year. It’s not like Ohio’s won MACCs for 3 years in a row or anything like that.

Kent wins its first bowl game by beating Utah State, which was also Ohio's first bowl victim.

And both Kent and Buffalo are very young teams. Good to see the MAC showing up for a change-will get it some respect for the worse division in college football some on here say.

Is Kent's offense that good, or is Utah State's defense that bad? Seemed USU had trouble tackling and wrapping guys up. Or, maybe KSU runners were all modern-day versions of Crazylegs Hirsch and couldn't be tackled.

I looked at my time line and saw they won. I was very surprised. Then I looked at the stats and saw Crum had 147 rushing. Then I looked at the highlights. UTAH STATEs defense against the run was worse than ours all season. Crum is a great athlete, dont get me wrong, but not 150 rushing. USU was all out of position and their LBs looked like that never saw Read-Pull before. This was terrible tackling. However, a dub is a dub and congrats to Kent State. We are 2-0 in the Capital One Bowl challenge.....something the MAC always finishes near the bottom at.

Utah State also lost a bowl game to Akron.

Which was also Akron's first bowl win in school history. So with Kent State's win, that makes three MAC teams that all got their first bowl game in school history against Utah State. lol

I think SDSU was much more motivated. I think they were seeking revenge against the MAC for last year. CMU looked like they really didn't want to be there. That happens sometimes in bowl games.

It's also possible that CMU has a coach who wasn't entirely "present"? I don't know what the word is there, but some schools have to be interested.

Hoping EMU proves me wrong in 15 minutes. I just think that Maurice Frennch receiver is too good.

What some people don't understand as football doesn't receive a mulligan like basketball, baseball, softball or volleyball. If a football team in the MAC gets to the league championship game it was not because of a mulligan. All of the above sports can finish way down in the standings and get to the MAC tourney title game. Those other sports have more than one chance to win a league title. In MAC football you have to achieve the top seed in the east or west to win a conference title. No MAC team who ends up 3rd, 7th or 9th seed can win a MAC title. I would think that the majority of athletes who compete for Ohio love playing in the post season no matter what the tourney. Hopefully MAC schools perform well in all the post season sports this season.

Eastern Michigan has already outscored the Independence Bowl.

Outstanding turnout by the Eagle fans. The location is as easy as it can be for them, but it's still Eastern.

EMU had the same problem that troubled Ohio this year. They were in position to win, but needed one stop to do it, and couldn't get it done.

Pitt has an average QB with amazing WRs. They made the difference. French should just enter the draft.

EMU put up 30 on these guys. I'm sorry, I'm just not buying that our defense was the only problem this season. We couldn't even move the damn ball against them.

An entire dimension of our offense was missing in that game with Rourke playing sick. We could not find a way to overcome that, but it shouldn't go unmentioned.

You are also talking about very early in the season when the team when was replacing its two best running backs, two best wide receivers and two best offensive linemen.

It was also a road game for the Cats and the bowl game was nearly a home game for EMU.

Add these factors to Rourke's illness and you get an apples-to-oranges comparison of games.

It's too bad Glass lost his cool and was tossed out of the game. The media focus has been on that instead of the effort by both teams.
