Not saying it’s likely, but Rourke seems to have at least as much athleticism as Edelman had at Kent. I’d love some coach to figure out a creative way to have him on the field. He just has an innate ability to elude tacklers and big hits.
Edelman - 4.5 40
Rourke - 4.7 40

nothing wrong with heading back to north to CFL.

This is becoming almost laughable now. Nevada has NO CLUE what to do on defense. This is looking more and more like the BG - OHIO game all over. I’m willing to bet Ohio won’t even attempt a punt the entire game. And to think some on here doubted Ohio would win this game. LOL
Just like the confidence in the Akron game in 2017, or the Fiami game in 2018 and this year, or how we almost gave away the division title in 2016 by losing to CMU and EMU, along with the Troy game that we lost that year down in Mobile.

Yeah, great, we will probably win another bowl, but don't let it erase the fact we tend to fold in games where the cards are on the table.

Can we not guard number four?

And where was BUTM on our previous series? Why get cute when all we need was a field goal to salt the game away?

If anyone can find a way to lose it is Ohio University.

I can’t take too many “easy” wins like this.

I knew Nevada wouldn’t be able to stop Ohio’s offense the second this bowl matchup was announced, and after seeing the first quarter alone, Nevada is having an even harder time trying to deal with Ohio’s offense than I thought. They have no answer on defense vs Ohio’s offense. They don’t stand a chance in this game.
Had the Nevada coach not made two of the dumbest play calls ever - the reverse and not going for a field goal - we might very well be 6 - 7. Talk about a gift but I'll take the win.

It might be a New Year but still nice to see we haven’t lost our “little man” syndrome when it comes to “The” OSU. Christ will we ever get over ourselves when it comes to WTF OSU did?

Alan the Nevada coach was trying to even out the dumb coaching calls. All we need to go is run clock and we put Nathan in a position to get cold-cocked and turn the ball over. Not exactly a coaching gem on either sideline. Oh well we did manage to turn a blowout snooze fest into a white knuckle win. Kept viewers interested until the end.

The Bobcats have won 3 bowl games in a row the last three seasons. I am guessing they covered the spread all three games. Some of you people need to take a chill pill and enjoy the wins. All wins are good!!

CC I moved on a looooong time ago with all things OSU. It continues to baffle me why sooo many on a Bobcat Board feel the need to dwell on OSU. But ok I’ll play along, OSU losses in front of a national audience and 80,000 plus in the stadium but loses. We win in front of maybe 8,000 and win. Yea for us, we showed ‘em!

And millions more on TV and I was ecstatic they lost - I root against OSU every time they play anything anywhere - don't you? It sounds like my hatred for OSU disturbs you. If you disagree tell me one reason I should ever root or care for the Buckeyes - just one - very easy - one.

I love Ohio University and I hate Ohio State (And I hate Miami) - its natural (do you not hate Miami?). Not dwelling, just stating fact. I hate OSU for no other reason than the assholes that came to Athens for Sprngfest and Halloween, got arrested and thus gave Ohio a bad reputation.

Ohio Good - Ohio State assholes. Miami Sucks. Period

Why was the Nevada QB having control of the ball and the ground causing the loss of the ball considered a fumble?

What is the rule on that play? Does a player have to have another part of his body on the ground? Why is touching down a ball on say a punt with no other part of the players body on the ground considered downing the punt but a ball carrier putting the ball on the ground isn't considered downing it?

Had the QB first hit the ground with the back of his hand/wrist then it wouldn't have been a fumble?

I am happy for the Frank French Fry Bath but don't like to benefit from plays like that.

Hats off to the defensive line--they put pressure on the QB and other than the wildcat plays, totally shut down the Packs running attack!

I've always heard "the ground can't cause a fumble, yet I've never seen a case where the ball touched the ground and was knocked loose before the player himself hit the ground. I'm sure BTC can explain the rule in detail. The one thing I noticed was that they took a very long time making a decision in the replay booth, and the film was absolutely unambiguous. They certainly weren't in doubt about what they saw on film, so I presume the extra time was to make sure they applied the rule correctly.

By the way, here's a shortened 14 minute version of the game, for those that want to re-watch it:

Speaking of calls, I think it was 3rd quarter, the long Pack throw that resulted in a pass interference call against our DB appeared to be ticky tack at best. There was minimal contact shown in the replay. Unless there was more contact that was off camera, that was a crap call.

Edit: Go Bucks! Not that I really care much, but it might cause CC another meltdown.

A runner isn't down until almost any body part but a hand hits the ground. Nevada's QB put his right hand carrying the ball on the ground before any other body part. I think the next part to hit the ground was his left forearm but by then the ball was loose.

John Madden used to say that the ground couldn't cause a fumble in the NFL but he was surprised one time when it happened in an NFL game. It was because the runner hit the ground before he was touched (a requirement to be down in the NFL) and the ball squirted out.

I thought it was a cheap call, too. But this reffing crew didn't seem to be into the game much today. There were at least three times they threw a flag then said there was no foul. CUSA crews can be almost as daffy as MAC crews.

BTW, I'm glad O$U is sitting at home watching the b-ball team instead of going to New Orleans. About one week of local Columbus hype during bowl season is all I can take.

Unless I'm mistaken, on the play immediately following that one, they called offensive pass interference on an equally ticky tack call.

Alrighty then cc. I guess I part company with you in that I was massively disappointed OSU lost, although I don’t consider myself a fan of the Buckeyes. I was hoping for an OSU-LSU final where hopefully Joe Burrow would kick their asses all over the field.

I get though that you HATE OSU. Still don’t understand the need to interject that into Bobcat sport discussions. Whatever. Hate on if that’s what floats your boat.

. . . watching the b-ball team that has lost both of its games since the football team lost to Clemson? Sunday v. Huggy Bear, who rumors has it wanted the o$u job that Holtman got a couple of years ago? And then Friday night to a Wisconsin team that was 5-5 before former buckeye Micah Potter became eligible and is now 4-0 with him?

Imagine if cc cat lived in central Ohio, surrounded by all the wal-mart o$u fans, rather than being sheltered from all the buckeye media garbage down in NC.

It doesn't make sense to support OSU when you didn't go to school there. Even if you did go to OSU there is still no reason to feel compelled to support it because they have endless resources already.

You're not mistaken. There was an offensive PI call made immediately after. I can't remember if they showed any kind of replay on that one, but I thought then it was a "make up" call. I know we're not supposed to say that, but that's exactly what it felt like.

I thought the exact same thing at the time. I noticed after the PI call our DB seemed to be so incredulous about it that he didn't even offer as much as a mild protest. His look was like did that really just happen?
