Looks like Hampton has subscribed to the Hagan school of tackling - hitting with shoulder but without wrapping up.
Yeah. That effort makes one long for arm tackling.

As I expected, Ohio is looking like the better team. Another score here could really blow this thing open. CMU is on its heels.

I'll say thus much, both Ohio QB's look really good at what they do best. Rourke looks great throwing it and Rogers and the run game look great running it.

You must be watching a different game than I am.

I didn’t want to think of them yet but damn, it’d be nice to have them

Uh, yea!! Ready for 2 new ones already. These guys would not be good at the hs level tonight. What is an illegal formation on the defense?

Did I miss something about how half of our team is missing?

This was a very winnable game and it feels like we’ve gacked it away.

D+ performance. A lot of that looked like high school miscues. There's much that hopefully is out of our system now, but if you're gonna drop one game, this was the one we could afford. Thankfully we have our yearly FCS game next week.

The way I see it this is the second game that Tuggle has cost us.

Bobcats got big time playmakers but very sloppy performance by offense in second half. Poor kicking game. Defense got better in second half. Quarterbacks have skills. Too many penalties killed drives. 2 big turnovers. Frank have a lot to clean up but we got some talent out there

That and the false starts, sacks allowed, soft coverage, missed kicks, 30 yard punts, run D pushed around...

Wash, rinse, repeat. Turnovers, miscues, 3 point conference loss. Sounds sadly familiar

Proudest moment tonight was listening to ESPN announcers discuss Cameron Odom and others getting 100% of football players as well as other athletes on the Ohio University campus registered to vote. My daughter, a senior at Ohio, voted in a presidential election for the first time on Monday. She expressed multiple times this fall her concern about what she perceived as apathy among the student body in Athens. I think what we heard tonight can help alleviate some of those concerns. Congrats Cameron.

Well, flags are located in the front and tucked under the belt, you grab with your favorite hand and flip to the yard line where the hold began. It’s really not a difficult skill.

A lot of positives out there tonight. Nothing to hang their heads about, battled all game long. Ohio has an easy win next week and that'll get things rolling.

Good start to the game, but once CMU discovered that Kurtis throws but doesn't run and Armani runs but doesn't throw, the offense disintegrated. Maybe we should put them both in for some plays so the opposition doesn't know what to expect.

The O line improved as the game went on. Fewer QB pressures and sacks, and it helped during the last drive. Too bad they couldn't finish it.

The D line came up big when needed but needs to put more pressure on the QB and get more TFLs. Part of the problem with the run defense was that the offense couldn't stay on the field for much of the 2nd half. CMU had 80+ plays to our 50 or so.

Kicking game: ugh.

The good news is that we have Akron at home next week which should be an improvement game. Looks like there might be rain during the game, but we should go to Fiami at 1-1. Just like every year, sweep the division and we go to Detroit.

I didn't realize that our last MAC loss of greater than a TD was in 2015 (I think Golic said 2016, but it wasn't then). We lost three straight by a total of 97 pts, the last being a 62-24 drubbing at BG on, oddly enough, Wednesday Nov 4.

BTW, tomorrow (Nov 5) is the seventh anniversary of the Phantom Safety.

That game was pretty much Ohio football in a nutshell, for me. Stealing defeat from the jaws of victory. Sadly familiar, very true.

Pataskla: I like your idea of putting both QBs in the game at the same time. With each QB alone we are so one-dimensional. As you said, once CMU figured that out our offense sputtered.

Fumble was a killer but he also had the explosive KR and some other good runs. Lots of costly penalties across the board. Way too sloppy
