Young QBs at Miami. Just blitz. And get pressure. Make those young QBs have to make great decisions. Do not run zone the entire game our they'll pick us apart.

For offense, Miami DEs will stay home(read-option) and I believe they will load the box (7 or 8 guys).

I would like to see us run some screens with Armoni to get his confidence up in throwing when he does come in. Or go 5 wide with two TEs and let him run up the middle.

Kurtis, keep doing you man!

The first two games our running offense has been mostly Tuggle Up the Middle. Very few plays go outside unless Armani is in the game. Is it because the O line can only go forward and not sideways? It would be good to see more outside runs to stretch out to opposing D.

QB (Rourke) seems to have feet of clay.

It looks like Gabbert is out this week again. He’s been totally removed from the depth chart this week. That’s another big advantage for Ohio.

Frank mentioned in his press conference today that they are having practice competition at the place kicker position this week. “We’ll see how that plays out.”

Is it open to the student population? My daughter is a senior at Ohio and played soccer in high school. She might be interested and she would have an extra year of eligibility for 2021 unless she decides to enter the draft.

I think SBH still has one year of eligibility left and he was an all-around athlete in high school.

When I played soccer at O.U.,sometimes,after practice,we'd try our luck at kicking field goals.

Most of us could hit consistently from around 50 yards.

But,that was without pads,or 11 guys running full speed at you.

Definitely Fortkamp vs V-Burg comp going on. And a few walk-ons right now too. Any other kickers in the roster we haven't mentioned?

None that I know of. I hope somewhere tucked away on OUr roster there is an Olineman who would kick old-school, straight-style kicks we could bring in to nail a key kick

One of the silver linings about missing so many projected players on defense this year is it has given some young dudes a shot, and they cashed in. the defense isnt perfect but dudes like the young group of d-linemen (Burton, McCracken, Mathews, Watkins) and DBs (Collier, Elad, and Birchette) have flashed at times. This looks like a nice core group for the future of Ohio football

Using any of the above is solid thinking. Kurtis Rourke is going to be a very good and very different player than Nathan. Kurtis really can throw it and with nice touch. With the playmakers we got, he should kill it in the next year or two.

Tettleton, Vick, and Nathan Rourke were all at home in close to the same offense. Kurtis Rourke and Rogers don't look so comfortable. Someone even mentioned bringing out the old flexbone for Rogers in another thread. Given that he is a senior with only a few games left and none of the personnel have been working on this it seems unlikely to me. Rourke may be more like a pro style pocket passer. The coaches need to figure this out but in a short season they don't have much time.

Kurtis Rourke and Rogers are not only not a complete fit to our style of offense that we were running with Nathan, they are both different styles of QB.

It makes me wonder if it would be a good idea to throw in a couple of plays to add some more wrinkles that would give each QB a chance to have some big plays using their strong suits. But, I imagine we can't get too fancy with such a short season.

I catch myself wondering what if we could experiment with two back sets with all of our talent in the backfield. But, I think we would need someone to play fullback to do that.

A couple of posters have mentioned the lack of a fullback on Ohio's roster. I've liked how ND, also without a fullback, will occasionally put TE Tommy Tremble in the backfield as a lead blocker in short-yardage situations. Perhaps Ohio could use one of the Luehrman twins in similar situations?

Well, Notre Dame is currently 8-0 with a OT win over Clemson under their belt, so might be worth learning from their success by picking up a new trick to throw in on offense.

I am going to take a stab at the expected spread Miami -10.
Thoughts?

It's unfortunate but not surprising given the number of cases around the country and specifically in Ohio.

159,121 new cases in the U.S. on November 14th according to a Google search.
That vaccine can't come soon enough.

Meanwhile, here in Japan there were 1694 new cases on November 15th.

I assume that winning percentage trumps head to head since 5-1 and 4-1 are not actually tied. A win at Buffalo alone then would not get it done.

What are the odds of rescheduling the game for Saturday or even Sunday, as some Pac-12 schools have done? Does the university's covid protocols require the players to isolate/quarantine for too long a time?
