I love all the iterations of our helmets. Not a single bad one. Except for the one with green and black stripes and the black OHIO on white helmets. Yuck.

But the white helmet, green paw… while in the all-whites, absolute flames. Nothing beats it.

Wish some of the black helmets would make a comeback. That one with the chameleon reflective OHIO was crazy work.

And the Miami game brick OHIO I think should become our full-time green, no joke.

Still waiting for the day they wear the blue and white uniforms, like the old Detroit Lions teams. 🤞🏽

I'm impressed you know that prior to the 1897 football season OHIO's colors were blue and white.  Like you, I'd love to see a throwback uniform like that.  It would take a lot of explaining to the fan base ahead of time. Just don't do it when we are playing North Carolina! ;-) indecisioncoolcheeky

I love the green paw on white, I don't get why people hate that one. Such a classic look and awesome throwback.

I also love having a throwback helmet for homecoming, I hope they continue to do that.

The helmets they wore yesterday on Homecoming looked dumb. Please, never again.

I loved them and they were yet another throwback. I hope they keep doing it.

This is a dumb question, I'm sure, but did something change with helmet/decal technology that made it easier to change helmet design frequently?

It feels like for decades helmets never changed, now there are teams that rarely seem to wear the same over week to week. Are they just reskinning the same helmets, or do we just buy way more helmets these days?
Not a stupid question at all. Stickers are somewhat easier to come by today and with more design options and the emphasis on honoring the past with throwbacks and people like it.

What Iowa State is wearing is, to me, a uniform that looks fine but would fall under the category of doesn't really represent Iowa State.

Does anyone recall a decal that only featured the attack cat or the standard athletic mark with the arch Ohio and the attack cat?

I seem to remember a look in the mid to late 90s where they had the arch Ohio and the paw print for a time...
