Look at the AD making a splashy scheduling move. Games like this are the kind you really want.

Love it love it love it.

The fact we got them coming to Athens is huge. Not to get greedy, but would love to see a basketball component part of this deal too......

And that the game in Athens is the first in the series.

Between now and 2026, we now have Syracuse, Iowa State, WVU, and Cincinnati visiting Peden. The only comparable non con home game from 2010 - 2020 was Kansas, and all four of the former are better.

You feel we will be annuncing the Stadium Expansion soon?

The fact that the opening game of the series is a home game for us makes me hopeful it'll actually happen. Seems like the best P5 home games we schedule tend to always get pushed out or cancelled...

Citizens Banks Club Level seats across the river. A free pair of binoculars come with each ticket.

A WVU fan on Reddit writes "Tickets at Peden Stadium go for $20-30 on the websites. Should be a huge home field advantage for the Mountaineers."

Ohio fans will have to be at the ready when single game tickets go on sale. This might be the first time an Ohio game sells out in minutes.

"Ohio U just guaranteed a sellout and an all time attendance record with this game."

I guess an advantage of having a small stadium is our season ticket base + students already take up a nice % of the seats. It isn't like there are 30,000 single game tickets available for WVU fans to come in and buy...

At $50 a ticket for season tickets, WVU fans will buy season tickets just to get into this game. There will be no single game tix available and the rest of the season will be empty seats. Ticket Office has a couple years to figure this out.

According to fbschedules.com, the dates are Sept 6, 2025 (Saturday after Labor Day; too bad), Sept 18, 2027, and Sept 1, 2029 (Labor Day weekend).

Makes the 2025 OOC schedule interesting with at Illinois on 9/13 and at T'erd on 9/20. The other home game will probably be a 1AA school, but it would be nice to have another 1A in the mix.

8-9 years out is an eternity in today’s football landscape, who knows if we’ll even be FBS by that time. I hope to see the ‘25 game, not counting on attending many after that.

I would guess there’s some language in the contract covering various scenarios in the event we move down.

colorado and I may be the only folks on this board who remember their first visit to Athens, a 12-0 shellacking in the storied 1897 season. Here's hoping for a repeat.

Combined with a six pack of Razz Wheat, and an old-fashioned radio, that's a value proposition that can't be refused! ;)

With the events this summer such as the playoff expansion, Texas and Oklahoma moving to the Big 12 and the announcement of WVU signing a series to play in Peden all I can say is LOL to that guy bobcat695 who dumped supporting us for WVU.

He was said something to the effect "I can get to see national powers like Texas and Oklahoma at Mountaineer Field" He's got egg on his face now.

Sorry OCF, I’m not quite that old, but I’m sure you remember it.
I’ve got to ask - have you made your hotel reservations for all the WVU games?

That would be hard to set an all-time attendance record since the fire marshall got involved with our numbers several years ago. But you never know.

By 2025 WVU could be in the American Conf or even back to being an independent. They have aspirations of being in the ACC but beyond their own AD they haven't popped up in many conversations about what happens if the B12 dissolves.

A lot of grumbling by some WVU fans about playing on the road at "small school" Ohio.

Since I live in Athens, I don't have to make hotel reservations for home games. ;-)

I should clarify one thing in my first post on this topic for those not fully attuned to 19th Century scorekeeping. In 1897, a TD counted five points and the point after goal was one point. So, a 12-0 score was a full two TD lead.
