I made this my road game trip again as I usually drive home to pick up family for this game. At least it is a nice stadium and fun trip. Anyone going?

I had bought the tickets early and promised to take my dad since he just turned 80 and has been wanting to go. I'll be there in green and white but not expecting much.

Sadly, whoever loses this game will be able to state with absolute confidence that they own the basement in one of the weakest football conferences in all of FBS. Heck, they may also be voted the absolute bottom feeder of all FBS teams.

Interesting spin. Made it sound like we've played the non-conference schedule with one hand tied behind our back. I'm skeptical, but I hope they are right. Go OHIO!

Might be close. Ohio is averaging 9.7 ppg vs 1A teams and Akron is averaging 13.7. If the Ds show up, it could very well be a 6-3 game.

Albin’s plan was clearly to start the season winless to lull the MAC into a false sense of security. Unfortunately, Vegas appears to have seen through the veil as we are still favorites at Akron.

For some reason, as I think about this upcoming Tussle of the Titans, I'm having flashbacks to the 1994 contest between the 0-1 Ohio Bobcats and the 0-2 Utah State Aggies. The final score in a drenching rain was 5-0 Aggies. These two teams went on to glorious positions in the coveted Bottom Ten of college football with Utah State finishing 3-8 and the hapless Bobcats completing a perfect slate of 0-11.

I’m probably just a hair closer than this (just north of Goodyear Heights Metro Park), but we have to go to a wedding on my wife’s side. This is a lot less annoying than it should be this year.

Might be close. Ohio is averaging 9.7 ppg vs 1A teams and Akron is averaging 13.7. If the Ds show up, it could very well be a 6-3 game.

In reality it's 55 (?) on CBS's app. I'd probably take the under on either one of 54.5 or 55.5 and feel pretty good about it.

9.5 points makes no sense. We are on the road. That indicates that we might be more than a 2 TD favorite at home. How is a team that has looked as bad as anyone in the FBS that much of a favorite against anyone. As noted, this might be a low scoring game which makes it less likely for one team to cover a big margin.

If you are the betting sort (I'm not) and cam stomach betting against the Bobcats then this has to be one of the better bets in a while. We literally close look about 4 TDs worse than might have been predicted preseason. Even if you hedge on that and assume that we play halfway in between were we might have been on paper and how we have looked so far and assume that's only 2 TDs then I still don't think that we are a 9.5 point favorite on the road. It seems to me that people must be putting too much weight on how some of OUr recent games with Akron have gone.
