Fleck just got a seven-year contract at Minn, which runs through 2028. It's two years past his current contract. No financial terms available and it has to be approved by the regents.
My Minnesota cousins -- most graduates of The U -- aren't happy with this. I think they are still smarting about that loss to BG Normal School.

Tom Arth let go from Akron after not even three seasons…..

Is this a joke? How can they judge a guy after not even having two full seasons? Feels wrong so many ways to Sunday.

Nonetheless, gotta think that Toledo DC and former Mount Union coach Kehres is a contender for a job.

North Central beat Mt. Union a couple years back, maybe their coach is next.

And Akron probably played their best game of the year Tuesday night. They scored two TDs to pull within a FG of BSU with ten minutes to go before losing by six. I guess they were planning to fire him at the end of the season but did it now to get a jump on finding a new coach.

I think Kehres is willing to wait for Candle to leave too and stay at the alma mater.

Job could go to Archbishop Hoban coach. Akron badly needs some local energy to get people to start attending games.

Saw Gerry last night. He is getting old and using a walker now. His knees are bad. He is still a big sports fan.

Akron runs that place like they live on credit cards. Run up immense debt but just pay the monthly minimum and all will work out. Don’t know any of the details of his firing but the next coach should read the fine print on the contract: Take this job at your own risk! How many guys are they paying not to coach now?

Here's what told Terry Pluto three years ago about how they were planning to pay for Bowden's buyout and Arth's first year: https://news.wosu.org/wksu-stories/2018-12-26/the-view-fr...

At any rate Bowden's contract expired in February so they're probably done with his buyout.

According to alumni, as expected, get ready to add Dino Babers to the list on Saturday night or Sunday.

Wonder if beating a ranked Pitt to become bowl eligible would change anything?

Skip Holtz let go at LA Tech.

Doug Martin with a really weird move not attending today's Senior Day festivities at NMSU. Basically washed his hands with this disaster.

Yeah, I was going by this -- https://footballscoop.com/news/washington-huskies-wake-fo... -- which had an extension as one of three options and was posted before the other stories broke. They haven't updated it yet.

Might be a perfect fit! ;-)

Let's see, in one package, they get lying, cheating, sex scandals, adultery, players on drugs, short tenure, and just a general sleezy coach who runs sleazy programs . . . so, yes, he does seem like a perfect guy for Akron for one or two seasons max before he figures out his next scam.

I have to think that Oklahoma's move to the SEC could have swayed Riley to jump to USC. The path to the playoff will certainly be easier in the PAC 12. I was still surprised to see the move, though.

Saw that Joe Morehead is also in the running for Akron, which…🤯. He could just about throw a stick and do better than Akron, right?
