One PA sportswriter called OUr D soft clay.

His prediction is something like 43-17.

Personally I would like to see the following;
1) No turnovers
2) Force at least 2 turnovers
3) Special teams improvement on receiving kick offs
4) Score some sacks

You do not "score" sacks, you record sacks, you "score" points.

I’d settle for no major injuries.

I think Coach Albin has been working on his presser skills. It's still him, but I understood everything he said and he seemed to answer the questions that he wanted to answer, and went coach speak when he didn't. Given where he started, a marked improvement, IMO.

Coach Albin has always talked fast and was never a media guy. To see him come this far is awesome and I'm proud of coach.

1). Score first (builds confidence & takes crowd out early)
2). Lead at halftime (pushes to finish game strong)
3). Cause 2 turnovers (shows relentlessness)
4). No missed FGs (accuracy and crowd noise deflection)
5). No blocked punts (P5s like to send block punts more in week 1-3 on lower level teams)

This.

Plus, I'd throw in that we don't beat ourselves with silly mistakes. It'll be tough enough without helping Penn St with our own miscues.

Their fans think they will rush for 200 yards+ on us.

Coach Albin is one of the most likeable people much less Coach I've ever met.
Seen him pick up incoming kids , feed and clothe some too. I really hope he succeeds.

This game, I am going to watch to see if former Medina QB, true freshman Drew Allar, who has moved up to the #2 at PSU, sees playing time. Who knows, perhaps he learned indirectly from Athens' Own experiences that the place to play big time college QB is somewhere other than Columbus!

I would think that would be one of PSU's game plans, to really get the running attack rolling.

You do not "score" sacks, you record sacks, you "score" points.
And in recent years increasingly we've had to hear basketball announcers speak of "scoring the ball."

Seeing endless amounts of trash emitting from the Penn State side on how they are going to smoke us. Time to prove some people wrong

Here's a comparison article from a writer who covers Penn State: https://nittanylionswire.usatoday.com/lists/tale-of-the-t... /.

Rereading it, I thought it was a bit silly to give an "edge" to someone based on stats, then basically take the "edge" away because, according to the writer, it's not a fair comparison given the differences in the two teams' opponents. The only info that's relevant from the article is who the writer thinks will be the key players in the game, which would've made for a more interesting article anyway.

That means to mark a line on the ball with a sharp instrument, right? I hope they do it carefully.

I'm interested to see if PSU tries to give freshman star QB Drew Allar (Medina, OH) more reps in this one. He's the future and if they think Clifford won't be what they need for the Big Ten season, Allar will need all the experience he can get.

If spring ball was any indication he is not ready to take over this team.. He shows flashes of all that talent. But he really needs to sit this year if he can. Healthy Clifford is a good QB. but hurt he is not that good.

I was at Penn State in 2012. Loved the town and the atmosphere. Retuning tomorrow and hope to see others at the Ohio tailgate. Regarding the business side of this game, does anyone know how much Penn State is paying Ohio to play at Penn State with no home and home arrangement?

Most BAttackers predicted in the season schedule results a loss this week vs Lions.

So what is your gameday score prediction?

Mine: NittyLyons 27 OHIO 17 I originally thought 34pts but think we give them enough problems moving the ball to avoid a doubling.

Go BOBCATS; make it two in a row over the bland uniform crew.

Being cautiously pessimistic: State Penn 45--Ohio 13. Thinking we might get off to a slow start like we did last week vs FAU and other MAC teams did vs "P" teams. If we don't, we can maybe make a game of it.
