Go Herd!

UND has 2 and goal on the one when the 4th Qt starts. Could take the lead, but Marshall has plenty of time to get it back.

So true. Anytime ND loses is okay with me. They’re just so special, they don’t need a conference affiliation.

My mom and particularly my dad would have been so proud of Marshall today. They met at Marshall. He often would say, when things looked dire, for The Herd, he’d often say…”please Marshall, do something dignified today”. …well today they did, Dad…today they did. “We Are…”

A great win for Marshall. Thanks for keeping the memory of Jeff alive.

Sure puts some tarnish on O$U's win last week.

They said Freeman is the first ND head coach to lose his first three games, which includes their bowl game last year.

More tarnishing. Georgia Southern over Nebraska. App State over Texas A&M. Iowa State over Iowa.

Iowa wasn't such a big surprise. They couldn't get a TD in their 7-3 win over South Dakota St last week (two safeties and a FG). Their offense just plainly sucks. They might even be an underdog at home next week against Nevada, who lost to Incarnate Word yesterday.

Are there 2 more overpaid coaches in the world today than Jumbo Fisher and Kirk Ferentz. In Ferentz’ defense at least he’s not constantly running his mouth, unlike Fisher. Freeman from Notre Dame just looks shellshocked. Maybe ND should have taken a little more time deciding on a HC after Brian pulled the rug out from under them.

Yes, Freeman is inexperienced as a head coach. And yes, he's winless in 3 games. But he will get things righted in South Bend with a top 3 recruiting class coming in and some nice additions to his staff. He will get athletes to sign with the Irish that Brian Kelly claims wasn't possible. The turnaround may not include a quarterback currently on the roster and it probably won't include OC Tommy Rees. But it will happen.

All of you happy with ND struggles this month, be sure to enjoy it now because it won't last long.

I tend to think all of this will turn out to be true.

The win got them from nowhere to 26th in the AP poll, 32nd in the coaches poll. It'll be interesting to see if they have a letdown at BG this week.

We'll see. Keep in mind Brian Kelly was the only guy to have a job beyond 5 years in South Bend since Lou Holtz

What's a let down? Winning by only 3 TD's?

Judging by how Bowling Green just lost to Eastern Kentucky, a letdown may be 4 touchdowns

This reminds me of 1962, when Miami beat Purdue in a major upset. Then OHIO beat Miami, for a few weeks we were known as the team that beat the team that beat Purdue. Could BGSU become the team that beats the team that beat Notre Dame? Not betting on it, but stranger things have happened, like a 4-8 BGSU team (2-6 MAC) beating Minnesota last year.

Much more recently, Toledo beat Purdue, right before Purdue went to beat Notre Dame. I think it was late 90s
