I just discovered that Joe Morehead, the Akron coach, is a Fordham graduate and once coached Fordham. He played QB at Fordham. He also was a very effective OC at Penn State. He apparently knows how to coach QBs as Irons has shown steady improvement this year.
Moorhead has been in the national spotlight for a while. Penn State's offense hasn't been the same since he left for the Mississippi State head coaching job. He sorta flamed out there mostly because Mississippi is Mississippi and he never really fit in. But he was the OC of the Oregon team that went into Columbus last year and beat Ohio State. He sat out a few games for personal health issues and there was a glaring difference between Oregon with Moorhead and without.
The guy can flat out coach and scheme, and will probably be gunning for the Pitt job if and when Pat Narduzzi is gone (he's from Pittsburgh).
