Bobcats not in the mix.

Seems like there are some really poor matchups here...

Complete garbage.  Sports time OHIO decides to feature Eastern Michigan 3 times.  I know it's a MAC deal and not a MAC Schools of Ohio deal but come on.  Eastern Michigan vs Miami will definitely be the pillow fight of the week.  Seriously how do they justify these games?

The commissioner of the MAC is an Ohio alum so I won't be too brash. But are you serious?! This guy claims he wants all 13 teams to average 15,000 in attendance a game yet he allows Toledo at EMU to be televised. The only way Eastern will see 15K all year is if 10,000 Toledo fans care enough to make the hour drive to Ypsilanti. Now their fans can just stay home and crack a beer.

Then take into account that EMU is allowed to be televised at all. This is supposed to foster support for the MAC? This is supposed to let all the A&M fans out there know that MAC football really is worth paying for? They are a pre-season favorite for last place in all of college football. They don't have to televise Ohio or the best team 6 times, but they need to make sure they are playing their best hand on the screen. What a disappointment.

Let's not get too carried away and start exaggerating here.... there's no way in hell EMU will have 5,000 fans at a game... ;)

It also says bobcat blitz will be on STO, has this been true in the past?

Is STO even available other than DIrect TV and DIsh Network on Buffalo or anywhere in Michigan? They had real potential to showcase games like Ohio and BG or Ohio and Akron and really give their audience a chance to see the MAC's better teams in front of good sized crowds and cater to their subscribers. Yet they settle for trash. Obviously we are biased but I guarantee they could have come up with at least 10 better games to choose from. I assume this decision came straight from Tribe managment, this smells like a lot of their decisions over the years.

Tribe management doesnt make amny of the calls. I am assuming these calls came from the MAC.  There are a few Akron games and I am assuming this is what STO wanted, while the MAC wanted the other games so they settled.  The games shown should all be with at least 1 Ohio team, and I am sure almost every week there is a game featuring 2 Ohio teams so potentially one of those every week.  However, I am sure that these games will be broadcast in these regions on another network that has some sort of partnership with STO.

Wow.  I guess I wasn't prepared for STO to be the Akron football network.

Where's the MAC favorites?  Northern Illinois?  Temple?  Ohio?  Even recent dominator Central Michigan is missing.

Weird lineup.  Maybe those teams are on TV elsewhere?

I can honestly say not one of those games is interesting to watch. NOT ONE. Please, stop this charade and just blow this conference to pieces already.

Well, I can say for sure that there has to be some regret with us giving up on the ONN connection and chasing after that Channel 2 deal that was good for one year. Now Miami is getting games on ONN and we're left holding our d****.

While the games will suck, at least it should be a nice experience and resume builder for Allie Laforce.

Here's the pre-season rankings (from presnapread.com) with number of games played on STO-

  44 - Temple- 0
  55 - Northern Illinois- 0
  60 - Ohio- 0
  72 - Toledo- 1
  82 - Central Michigan- 0
  89 - Bowling Green- 0
  92 - Western Michigan- 1
  99 - Kent State- 1
101 - Ball State- 0
105 - Akron- 3
108 - Buffalo- 2
112 - Miami- 1
119 - Eastern Michigan- 3

Number of appearances by top 6 teams- 1
Number of appearances by bottom 7 teams- 11

If only these were the only games they could get because all of the other match ups were already beeing shown on CBS and ESPN.

I still contend she has the best name ever for what she's doing career wise. The only other person I can think of who's got something close is Will Power the Indy driver.

This is just a stab in the dark, but is it possible that the MAC wanted to save some of the marquee games in hopes that a few would get picked up by ESPN?  Just grasping for straws here but that could be a possibility.

Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding. We have a winner. MAC Commish isn't foolish, ESPN has the option of picking up those big games. Because ESPN brings in more money that STO. Now, if STO (which is only in Ohio, right?) has the MAC for a few years then look for teams from Ohio's big games to be on; likely giving STO the rivalry games.

No. Direct TV, Dish Network and AT&T UVerse all carry STO nationally. It reaches a whole lot more people than people realize.

If STO would ever fully commit to MAC football and do the good games, there would be more viewers for its games than ESPNU, in my opinion.

I'm not surprised Akron received three games, given the push it has made in football, the stadium and the location of STO. I'm just surprised that Kent State didn't get more games.

Also, this is just the first year. THey might be dipping their toes in the water. If it works, and let's hope it does, we could see expanded coverage. STO is the perfect place for MAC football...if they do it correctly.

Just another example of how the MAC is a joke of a conference.

Not sure where the anger is coming from. Of the schedule STO announced, the Bobcats are only playing on 4 of the 6 dates and of those 4 games I can completely see why Ohio wasn't selected for any of the STO broadcasts.

9/11 - Ohio is playing a night game against Toledo, which is the same time as an Indians game
10/9 - Playing BG, but it's the same day as Akron/Kent State which is an ideal broadcast for a station based in NE Ohio
10/23 - Playing at Miami, they should show this big rivarly game but instead are showing Akron (and a game that is being produced by Akron...maybe Miami was offered but they couldn't produce it.)
10/30 - Playing a non-conference game against ULL

Not far from the case, smart move by Akron IMO.

Would like to see Ohio (and other MAC schools) try and formulate something like this.

Unless there is some reason behind the scenes we don't know about, this lineup of games is a sad joke.

Don't you remember from the old board, to some it is always a conspiracy.
