A. I had really good seats last time. They were down by the band close to the field.
B. I just got my tickets for this year. They suck.  I'm probably going to sell them and pocket the cash, this is a waste of time.
C. I no longer have any reason to incrementally increase my Bobcat Club donations each year. Captains Level. Apparently I got lapped by some people.
D. Wooford.

Since you are definitely--definitely--into schedule complaining ("D. Wooford.") bLove, you should complain about this:  A very highly ranked school that plays stupd cow and us as part of their out of conf sched.  Okay, so that's the same as us this year.  Those two games are home games.  One of their other outside games is mighty and attractive Eastern Michigan at home.  Gee, that has marquis value for their fans.  Their 4th out of conf game is Miami, FL.  A good name--but the game is in Florida.  So, really it's not an acceptable out of conf sched, especially at home, is it?

Since this team is near you and ranked seconrd or third in the nation, Love, you should be all over them about their out of conf sched, espec given that they don't have the small stadium, remote location and no-national-reputation problems which OHIO has.  It should be easy for them to have a stellar out of conf home sched.  But they don't.  What are you going to do about it?

Ohio State is playing at Miami FL next season, this year the game is at home.

It is quite obvious why the penalty wasn't called. A game between two undefeated teams on national tv the following week had to be protected. A continued close game couldn't be risked.

You are correct MFRONE.  My mistake; columbus is playing MiamiFL at home this year.

columbus's out of conf away sched this year is very adventurous.  It consists of...no one.

Why would they play an OCC game on the road if they don't have too?  I love the Miami series, as I loved the USC series, and when they are home they do not need to venture into a mid-level OCC road game.  It is all about the $$$$ and there are schools lining up at the $750,000+ paydays they offer.

Do you really think that has anything to do with playing road games?  I see it more as simple case of talent.  In any case, OSU is no different that many top flight programs when it comes to how they schedule.

Alabama on the road to Duke (good job to Duke on that one).
Florida all home OCC, with one MAC School, FCS school, and South Florida
Texas no OCC Road games
Oklahoma at Cincinnati
Nebraska at Washington
VT no OCC Road games
Auburn no OCC Road games

Just a quick sample, next year OSU will have a quality OCC Road game, not unlike any other of the big boys they will play one tops OCC game on the road or even period.

You obviously either weren't at that game or are masking A&M loyalties...There was not only one but multiple obvious blocks in the back on that play and any High School Official would have had the integrity to call them.  This is not a conspiracy theory...It's a statement of fact.

That being said...In retrospect I'll admit it was Ohio's fault for allowing a Big11 (12) officiating staff in the contract  to begin with...

I was at the game, was wearing green and was rooting for the Cats. I just don't subscribe to the same theories that you do. The game was played. We couldn't finish the game. Get over it. Oh, and continue to question the loyalty of others, homeboy.

Glass Houses...

I completely understand you subscribe to different theories than I do...A right which DavePi2 apparently doesn't deserve?

If you read my entire post you'll see I am over it...We brought that variable into the equation on our own when we signed the contract...The fact that it's a thing of the past though doesn't make it any less of an injustice.

Saying we couldn't finish the game is a pretty wide sweeping statement...It's kind of an uphill battle when the two teams are playing by a different set of rules...

On a related note, I just confirmed that the game will once again be officiated by a Big 10 staff.  I can only assume that a single contract covered both the '08 game and '10 game.

Here's hoping Sept 18th doesn't flush out more "conspiracy" fodder...

If anyone here is trying to sell their tickets, please send me a DM.  I can even trade you a ticket to any other OSU home game if you happen to lean that way (my gf has student season tickets, but it doesn't include the Ohio game).

well my tickets are in row 20 of 8c, since it has been 26 years since I have been in ohio stadium I will reserve judgement of the seats until the game.  What I remember of the stadium 20 some years ago was that it was a dump before being fixed up. I hear good things now but people here in columbus also think they have a good band and original traditions also. I have been to many a stadium accross ohio , michigan , and indiana and it is hard to t hink it could be worse then michigan stadium. I know they are fixing that up also but when it is said it is a hole in the ground they are not kidding. Seats at ohio stadium can't be worse then the ones there. Also who can forget those wonderfull days spent at the rubber bowl. Somehow I feel I will have a great time at the game, and this year we will win.

I bumped up my OBC status to All American this year and still have crappy seats.  I have to be way up on the priority points list from the past years, as well as the top money raiser in my district as a Bobcat Rep.  I can only guess I got lapped by some larger donors, also.   I believe the better seats go to players' families and dignitaries.  I am beginning to think buying 13 seats together got us stuck in the C-deck.  I'm going to go and have a good time.  There are a lot of other things I could spend my time and energy complaining about.  (Like the OSU fans we all love to hate)

I split my request up in small doses and fared better than you, would suggest that to you for future allocation events.  Really appreciate your second sentiment also, so thanks for that instead of exercising your other options.  A breath of fresh air.

Kudos to the guys on this thread that could care less about their seats and more about supporting the team on gameday.

Two years ago I got a bloody nose and could barely breathe where my seats were located. Sad thing is I probably had one of the best times of my life at that game. There was nothing better than being shoved into upper c-deck and rooting for the Cats' while all of the buckeye fans below got pissed off for three quarters. Be honest with yourself, did you really think you were gunna have great seats for the game? We almost beat them two years ago, there AD wants us as far from the field as possible.

To everyone as well - please practice your "Uuuuu" chants so were are primed after the osu student section begins stadium o-h-i-o.

Cheers

I just want to thank some of you for some of the most entertaining reading I have had in sometime.  Not sure I've laughed this hard since reading Knockemstiff.

What is wrong with complaining if you thought you were getting better tickets?  I still plan to go to the game, enjoy the game, and root on my Bobcats.  Why can't I wish I had better tickets?

Truthfully there are probably a lot of people here who give much more money than I do and deserve better tickets than I.  I personally believe those people deserve better tickets than the players' families.  I understand there are quite a few families that for 4 or 5 years go all out to see OHIO games, but where are they after that?  And its not like most of them are giving money to the school.  On the contrary they are saving money due to their kid having a scholarship, thus why many can afford to travel and attend as many games as they do.  I know its not their fault that the university treats them better than regular donors, but at times it just irks me.

Honestly folks section 8C is not that bad. Yes, there are better seats, but I have say I have sat in much, much worse seats in teh Shoe. If you're lower in B deck then you could be behind a column. I was there the last time I saw an OSU game. We were so far up under the upper deck that I could barely see the field and couldn't see the rest of the stadium. I've sat in the south stands before, and you feel out of the entire stadium. I've sat in section 1 (where the invoice said are seats were), and that is too low. Yes, there is such a thing as being too close to the field (our Tennessee seats were that way last year). You can't get a good perspective on the field. For those familar with the Shoe these are not bad seats. They're not great, but they're not bad either. I have friends that go to a lot of games there who will only sit in C deck.

I saw pictures online last night that were taken from 8c during the usc game last year. I agree there could be a lot worse. I am going to have a good time myself.
