L.C.'s post about recruiting QB's makes sense.

Normally, I'm against athletes transferring.  Doesn't seem to work out well too often.  Maybe that's more so in basketball and I'm influenced by that.  But Roback's 4.0 GPA, his size and speed, and the fact that his dad is O-H-I-O make me think that this will work, that the lad has fOUnd the right place.

While transfers are no lock, I believe that the last four quarterbacks to start a game for Ohio were all transfers.  Unless I'm missing one, I believe Brad Bower, Theo Scott, Boo Jackson, and Phil Bates are the last four QBs to start games for Ohio, and all came to Ohio after starting college elsewhere.  It's possible that Derek will keep the streak alive (though I bet Tyler Tettleton or Kyle Snyder have something to say about that).

Finn:  Spot on, and don't think other schools don't use that against us in the recruit trail.

Monroe:  Football is quite different than basketball in this area, and football seems to have had a lot more success with transfers than Basketball.  Personally I think it is the nature of the games.

Am I missing something here? I'd say transfers in basketball have worked out quite well for us. If you consider MAC tourney champs and an NCAA tournament win a success that is.

Justin Orr and Bubba Walther played just fine too.

I am taking my reference to an overall perspective, and dating it further back.  Do not forget AB in your basketball one, a one and done, off court issues, didn't graduate.
