I cannot say it better. Toledo crapped the bed.
Nine times out of ten Toledo would have blown out BGSU in this game, BUT not tonight!!!

Un God damn believable.

I thought referees owed it to the game to review what looked like a strip sack the play before but was ruled incomplete pass.

Time to get as much students as possible to pack Peden on the 22nd. For all the marbles!

Wow. BGSU is 15 points dog at Toledo. Vegas saying they were pretenders. 😳

Sagarin rates BGSU as the 11th best team in the MAC, ahead of only Akron:
https://sagarin.usatoday.com/2022-2/college-football-team... /
You should have taken the points 😜. BG is still one of Four teams alive for MACC regardless of Sagarin ranking.

What happens if Ohio loses to BG, and Buffalo beats Akron and Kent? That makes it a 3 way tie between Ohio, Buffalo, and BG at 6-2 where Ohio beat Buffalo, Buffalo beat BG, and BG beat Ohio. What is the next tiebreaker?

I don't know but would rather not think about that. We have to win on the 22nd.

Buffalo wins. Tiebreaker #1 is head to head. They all would be 1-1. Tiebreaker #2 is division record. OU and BGSU would be 3-2 in division and Buffalo 4-1

Those scenarios don’t matter since they all assumed OU lost to Ball State.

In that scenario, 3-way tie at 6-2, the tied teams all having gone 1-1 against one another, the next tie breaker is "2. Record of tied teams within the division [versus rank order, highest to lowest, of division teams]"

Buffalo wins that tie breaker on account of having beaten Kent, unlike BG and us

So, if Ohio wins, they win the East. If BG wins, then Buffalo wins the East, unless Buffalo loses to Akron or Kent, in which case BG wins the East.

Very impressed the way Harris came in and seemed to mature as the game progressed. With each play he seemed to gain confidence. While he's not the passer that Rourke is, he's adequate and will get better. He may be a better runner than Rourke. I think with a week of practice as the #1 QB, we will be able to tailor plays to his strengths and develop a game plan around those strengths. We will be more than ready. Go Bobcats!

+1 also thought the defense played great today. Has been getting better all year. Held ball State most of the game. At home with the division on the line should be a great game. Go bobcats!

Football ultimate team sport. Its next man up at each level. Backup QB was able to guide team home. Advantage of backup entering game has is other team didn't prepare for a run heavy game script. BGSU will have advantage to prepare for that while BSU did not. Roark was a pass heavy offense, but it like we are back to traditional Ohio football. Good to see we still can run the ball. It is on the o-line.

I believe there is a decent chance that Miami will be the next ranked team, especially since Miami beat Kent.

I thought CJ played well, all things considered.

He's literally never played. He gets thrown into a sleeting mess with swirling wind into his face. He knows they NEED a W. His first snap is fumbled (it looked like it was NOT a run to Bangura... or maybe it was an option keeper, and CJ didn't make the proper call...?)

Remove the holding call on Foster, that was a nice 20 yarder to Wigs. Then Wigs had drop for about 15. I believe he had one more drop for good measure. Also about 10 yards. (7/8 for 80 yards... not bad, not bad)

Those 3 plays to basically start your career... I think he could've looked and felt different had they been complete. He couldn't find a rhythm.

The sky is not falling.

CJ takes all the first team reps. They have time to work in some special packages that aren't all air raid... work on timing with Bangura, Wigs & Co... I think we can shock some people. He's from Michigan. He's used to the cold. He threw for 3,500 yards in HS. He can and will do this.

Even if Rourke is able to play, do we sit him?

If hyper extension yes. Take our chances next week if we can't pull it out tonight.

If Toledo makes a comeback and beats BG (down 14-21 at half)...we really need to win this game to give Rourke 2-3 weeks rest. Gotta win this one. It's all on the Defense now. Our kickers and punters are going to be highly depended on. We will need them at their best.
In order to hyper extend, doesn't the hit need to come from the front part of the knee and bend backwards? He got hit from behind/little to the side.

I'm not an AT but I always thought a hyper extension was when the knee bends the opposite direction its supposed to.

I hurt my left knee when I was wrestling in college.

They said it was "hyperextended", even though it wasn't bent in the opposite
direction.

The trainer said "hyperextension" is if a joint goes beyond its normal "range of motion" regardless of direction.

I think this is right. Despite what ESPN was saying last night, Buffalo still can win the MAC East if it wins its final two games and Bowling Green beats Ohio.

It was at least close enough it deserved a look.

Hindsight being what we all know it is, maybe Toledo should have willingly gone down at the 1 when BG was trying to let them score? It would have at least forced them to burn one of their timeouts, if not, they could have run a lot of clock down.

Exactly what I thought on Toledo’s play at the one. In fact, why not go to take a knee twice to burn 2 TO’s, you still have 2 tries to get it in.
